I'm after suggestions for a good brown leather belt. Can anybody point me in a starting direction?

My favorites! Even if you don't carry, they're AWESOME! Made to your specifications and built to last a lifetime. Fit and finish are exceptional.

If that's out of your price range, try Galco, but don't order from their website, they'll rob you. They have a new belt that isn't double-thick that looks pretty nice. The 7-hole Sport Belt. If you like the other offerings from Galco, try:

Their prices are about as good as it gets for Galco merchandise. E-mail for availability before ordering or you could be in for a long wait if they don't have your size.

Hope this helps!

For daily and field use I've been very happy with the two Filson belts I have. (1.25" and 1.5" widths)

In a value priced reinforced gun belt, I've had good luck with Aker.

Please describe your use. Heavy duty in Blue Jeans or light duty in dress slacks makes a lot of difference.

For heavy use, a Bianchi B21 double thickness 1 & 3/4 inch which is cut on a curve to fit MALE hips is a great value and wears like steel. These are priced right too - think I got mine for ~$35 in about 1 week vs. the $105 and 7 month wait for the Milt Spark equivalent direct from the maker (it's a nice belt too).

I will second the Bianchi Double stitch 1 3/4. Been wearing mine for 4 years now ( at least )...do have to be careful when buying jeans though to make sure the belt loops will accomodate it .Levi's usually will as will the Legendary Gold jeans from like Wal Mart / target . Sure holds up the drawers, a Colt 45 , spare mag , 6Z , Sebenza in G2 sheath and a Henchman ! :D

Kenny Rowe makes awesome leather belts. (870)777-8216

I wear a Filson double thick belt everyday... whatya expect is gonna hold up the pants of someone nicknamed Mongo? The ONLY downside to this belt is that I need to tell Kenny Rowe to make sure his sheathes will fit my belt! You can find them here: www.filson.com
Mongo

Another vote for Mitch Rosen's belts. Been using his basic leather 1 1/2inch as a dress/gun belts for years. Nowadays, I am using Milt Sparks holsters and plan to try one of their belts. If they're anything like the quality of the holsters, it will be great.

Their belts look very nice for the $. Do you own one? I was wondering how they wear over time.
I have a friend who does and have a sharkskin one with a matching Wave hoslter on the way. I'll post an update after I get them down here. I have not been able to find a better price or higher recommendations!

aaron_simkovich,this is a forum to share ideas and websites and pick up information.I have been looking for one thing and then after reading here changed my mind and went in a better direction. If you are going to let this get your knickers in a twist you wont last long.Relax

The best leather belts I' ve used are from Milt Sparks and recently Alessi Holsters. Be sure you know what purpose your belt will be serving. To hold up ones pants even a string will do. For some concealed carry gear such as a firearm, mag pouch, 6P flashlight and a fixed blade, you will need a stiff durable belt that will fit the dimensions of the loops with whatever holder you will use. Durability is accomplished by the use of 2 strips of good quality leather glued and border stitched together with the sides burnished.

For a very good quality leather belt without the famous name and fancy ads, try the belts offered from Dillon Precision mail order.
