John, I hate to break it to you but I think you're going to be making a lot of Knatchets this winter

I'd like to see a shot of someone holding the Knatchet in hand. Kind of a ready to chop grip so I could see the size compared to a hand if possible.

Pitdog sent me a design for a Hatchet / Knife he wanted me to make for him. It`s 3/16" thick, and 11 1/2" overall.

Here is the drawing he sent. He decided against the extended tang, and decided on 6" handles.

Here is the finished "Knatchet."

In chopping grip.

Choking up on the handle for finer work.

Initials and serial number.

If you don`t like it, it was pitdog`s idea, , if you do, it was mine.

Just to veer this off topic for a bit. pit you think of anything you would change, since youve obviously had your s the longest Ill ask you, but if any of the other lucky owners jump in that would be great too. Noah fine work :thumbup:man. When I get mine I may just have John ship it straight to you, b/c I cant imagine if I get it in my hands that it will leave for very long.

You know what I have to answer with a resounding NO.

When I designed the Knatchet I must have drawn up about 10 variations before becoming sure of the final one. I made life size templates out of cardboard and spent hours pondering each dimension and curve.
Unless you increase the size ( which defeats what I was aiming to do ) I'm quite confident that you will not better the all round performance. Is it the best tool for all tasks...no chance, but in a survival situation it would be a darn handy tool to have by ya side !

Now back to your program. Noah how much time do you need to make a sheath? I dont think I want mine to come down quit as far as this one does on the handle, unless you think any shorter would hurt retention. And PM me a price so I can set it in my funds. Thanks man.
