I'll be ordering some hardware from http://www.tandyleatherfactory.com. I will be buying some dyes, stains, threads, stamps and rivets. What I couldn't understand was the button studs. There are some here : http://www.tandyleatherfactory.com/products.asp?DEPT=230&Page=4. I dont know whether the studs are complete sets, I mean do they include both the male and female parts?

I search for buttons like :

I wasnt sure if this is called button studs, or are they called something else?

What you have on the pouch sheaths are called #24 dot snaps. The button studs on the pic from Tandy go on the inside leather and the a small slot with a hole is cut in the overlaying top part to go over the stud.

Emre,

The snaps in the photos are whats called "Line 24" snaps. They come complete, however, you will need to also get the tool and anvil to flare the heads of the rivets. That tool and anvil is Tandy part number 8058-00. The "Line 24" snaps are slightly larger than the "Line 20". I use Line 24 on all my sheats that require a snap.

The link to Tandy comes up "Sam Brown" studs. They also come complete as a set, but then again, get the tool to set them. The tool used to set these studs is Tandy part number 8112-00.

Hope this helps............ Robert

Emre,

That kit will get you started. It has 20 complete snaps (some brass colored and some chrome colored). It also has the tool to set them with.

Good luck.
