Leather honing belt out of true

Bought a leather honing belt from Truegrit for a 2x48 belt grinder. Out of the box it has a very pronounced tracking issue with a visible sway off of center.

Previously bought a 1" from them and it tracked pretty good from the get go. The 2" is pretty tight, is this just a question of running it or leaving it on the machine to stretch out a bit or is it advisable to wet it and let it dry on the machine.

Did a search and could not find a ready answer. All my other belts tested track just about perfect.

I have heard of people gluing their leather belt to a worn out grinding belt.
I haven't tried it myself though.
