Alright... here is a set that I made up for one of our Forum Members. At first glance.. you may think "hmmmm looks just like three pair of leather pants"... but no my friends..... here we have one "normal" sheath for the ASH1 and two new "Blade Guards"!

Yeah baby..... so, you don't really plan to ever carry your safe queen, yet you wanna show your buddies your toys "In Style".... no more cardboard for you! Mmmmm you can almost smell it from there, LEATHER!

I call these BLADE GUARDS!

What do you guys think?

Edited to say: I forgot to mention.... Patent Pending. ;-)

Nice tool work on the leather and the idea of a simple sheath/blade guard is useful if you want to carry your knife in a rucksack ..... I find I do this more and more .... especially with the larger blades ..... if you are a collector they would look good on display too ....

Seems like a good idea to me!

(and thanxx for re-wording your post. ;))

I think at that point I'd rather have an actual sheath.

I think the biggest Plus is on a blade like the Gladius or a Moab perhaps. Something you're not going to put on your belt and go tromping through the woods (most of you anyway). In that case, it is 100% safer to have the blade covered with a solid leather sheath vs. the cardboard sleave. Making a complete sheath takes quite a few more steps and time in labor.

It's obviously going to boil down to what one wants I suppose. I really feel much better handing my Gladius to one of my buddies when it has the blade guard on vs. off.

What would the price difference be?

If a blade guard was approx. 1/3 the price of a regular sheath, I'd be all over it.

This is a thread to share an idea/project with the group... Conversations over prices should be taken to private comms, please. :)

I respectfully disagree. A post was made on a product, so it should entail all of the details including cost etc.

It's a very nice idea WR  I would however like to know the price point as well, so please PM me to appease the mods.

Thanks

Well, I think they are a great idea. I don't have any safe queens myself, but how elegant is it to pull out the pride of your collection with custom pants? These rock!
