I bet they'd make great canteen covers....

Very nice Rick!

It's almost like they were made for the canteen! Funny how things work out like that..

The Teletubbies are evil spawn from a messed up universe where purple dinosaurs talk, and grown men sing about bananas and mash potatoes!!!!!

Your canteen covers are very cool however. Nice work.:cool:

I like the leather look on them. But, the teletubbies kinda freak me out.

;)

Very neat, though.

I have some experience with a few canteen covers and, several leather canteens (brewers pitch lined) for historical reenactors, but your cover looks to be much more practical with our fairly modern canteen gear.

Very nice! Do you have a shot of the backside? Intended for a belt of some sort, I assume?

Rick, you totally stole my idea, I have been making fine leather tellatubies for years!

Tellatubie enthusiast, if you want quality leather tellatubies, come to me.

By the way, you misspelled "tellatubies".

Nope... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teletubbies

Dannyboy... I will get a shot of the back belt loop soon. The one I posted is the prototype with a 2-piece design where the retention harness is separate. this new design will have the belt loop attached separately. That way I can have the option of fitting it to baldric rigs and backpacks.

Here are more prototype pics...

Okay, that is what I thought might be possible with the design but wasn't sure what you did with the cover shown in the photo. Looks like you gave the project lots of thought and the craftsmanship looks to be superb...like your knives. Thanks kindly.

Very nice! Sleek, utilitarian and attractive. Well done!

Now where did you get the canteen? I'm assuming it's a 1qt?

very nice work Rick.. i like it.. i thought they were going to be a Thor's Hammer of some sorts...:o

Wow, great work! Functional and beautiful.

I use a maxpedition canteen holder. I like the stretchy straps because it allows me to carry a little altoid tin (MP1 tabs and a lighter) in the cup and under the canteen. But if I were into leather more, I would DEFINITELY pick one of these up from you. Wow.
