Anyone look over the artisian toro 300 leather sewing machine at the blade show. I had been wanting one for a year or two, and the demo's they were doing really pushed me over the edge. Got home and on Tues, I could not stand it any longer, so I ordered one. The old boss still works good but my right arm hates it.
What did ya'll think of the machine??????????

I checked out the artisan at blade and I'm totally envious of you. What a machine. It takes me 3 hrs to do what it does in 3 minutes and it does a better job ! Congrats on your purchase ! I was amazed by it's power, precision, and finess

:) I looked at it at the Blade Show. It's a really nice machine, as soon as I can make some room in my shop I plan on taking the leap. I've got a Boss right now that I just stow under the bench until I do leather work. Let us know how you like it after you use it awhile.

thanks,

HLH

I bought one a while back and love it. Paul Long owns a 3000 and 4000 and he was the one who told me about them. That is one hell of an endorsement.

Hey Mike,

I got to play with the Artisan at blade. Its a pretty fair chunk of change, but I will probably be getting one within the next couple of months.

I may also take a look at a flat bed machine for using smaller thread to do inlays and lining work.

Let me how you like yours after you get a chance to play with it for a while.

I had several people tell me about the Artisan at the show. I didn't get a chance to check it out, but I know that Sandy likes his. He also still has his Boss. As long as my Boss is going strong, I'll probably stay with it. I wouldn't mind having a machine to do the thinner leather like Robert mentioned. I do that by hand now and it takes way too much time.

It will be about 3 weeks before it arrives, seems that they built them as they receive the order for one. I will post on the performance when I get it and use it for a while. Got about 40 sheaths that are ready to sew now but it looks I will have to get the old right arm limbered up and oil up the BOSS. Mike

Robert if you decied to buy a smaller one I know a guy that has one not to far from you that he will sell. I would say probably at a good price too. I saw it a couple of years ago and it looks brand new. Said he never used it. Mike

Mike,

Put me on him......... I am really interested in a smaller machine for doing fine stuff.
