With Ilbruche's beautiful BK2 mods and sheath thread, I thought I would query the forum for thoughts on a traditional leather sheath for my Crewman. Due to it's compact design, it is increasingly my woodcraft knife and I've stripped it and replaced the original scales with some micarta (and yes, I'm out on my wet porch without shoes - doh):

I'm thinking a sheath that can hold the knife vertically and horizontally, but one that also rides high, so it doesn't hang too low. A loop to hold it in the sheath would also be great.

So what do you think would look nice? And, if you know a good leather craftsman, I would certainly like to see their work and solicit their skills for this project.

Looks like I'm not the only predator in these woods: Looks like Coyote to me - certainly no dogs around here that I know of:

I have a BK7 that's all but unused. But I find myself leaning towards my Browning Barker when I need something larger than 5 inches. The 7 is a tweener for me, but I hate to part with it.

Maybe my 10 needs some more traditional scales as well?

A well formed leather sheath will lock the blade in very tight. No need for a retaining strap. A higher riding sheath is easy to do. I've been itching to try a new horizonta/vertical loop method I found.
