Leather Sheath for BK2?

I'm looking to get a leather sheath for my new BK2 that doesn't cost double what the knife itself cost! I'd like something leather, I searched this forum and didn't come up with all that much. Anyone know of any makers (here or anywhere else) that make decent leather sheaths for this knife at a decent price?

Thanks!

Try Dwayne, aka leather man on the forums, he just got a forum here. He makes top grade leather sheaths at very reasonable prices.
Good luck.

I might suggest you look at Skystorm Leather (he is a member here). I believe his basic sheath for the BK2 is in your price range. I don't have any of his work yet, but I hope to in the near future.

It would be similar style as this one, but with just a loop for the belt instead of a dangler: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/910408-Skystorm-has-done-it-again

He's also got a store on that auction site (just google skystorm leather) you can check out more of his work, but you can always just contact him here too.

The hard part about your price range is that the bk2 is such a good value its difficult to find a leather sheath that doesn't at least equal the price of the knife. But believe me leather is a great investment and if you think of it as the knife itself being so reasonably priced, a good set of leather pants will still keep the package at a fair price. Good luck

Thank you for the reference my friend. :D

I do a machine stitched value sheath, this one has a RC4, but the idea is the same. :) I think I also have a pattern for the BK2 as well.

I can see the point of a leather sheath initially perceived as being expensive, But if you take into account the fact that good leather alone is by nature an expensive material to work with, add in several hours of someones time to custom make something for you and even the cheaper sheaths start looking like a bargain.
The BK2 for what it is, is an astounding value and they can pound out thousands of knives in one day. I could not put out even 1/10 of 1% of that in a day, Even the thought of it makes me wanna :barf: lol

I got this one for the ESEE5, but found that my BK2 fits, a bit snug. The edge cuts just a bit into the sheath, but I can't even see the cut. Anyway, Dwayne does great work. I got this one for $50, from another website...It just depends on the style you want, can afford, or desire. A good quality sheath is worth it, they last if you take care of them.

Hey Foxx, I think I know where you got that one. :) Two Wolves Outdoors are great people to work with, I trust them with all my gear needs, bar none. :D

Its amazing how close the ESEE5 and the BK2 work in that sheath!! All I have to do is make a little room where it counts and BAM! Dual use sheath!

Thank you for the reference my friend! I really appreciate it.

I completely understand where you are coming from. I get that making a sheath is labor intensive and the materials aren't exactly cheap either. So how much are those sheaths you posted?

Hi Dutch, I think the modgods frown on posting prices but you can pm me for details on the two of them

Jeez, the mods here can be absolutely ridiculous here sometimes.

Eh, not really, we have a really nice for sale forum to conduct business. I feel fortunate that we are even allowed to show off our work here. There are some forums that only allow on topic discussions, this is a good place. :)

I was merely inquiring about a sheath not asking him to make it, not ordering it. If I can't talk about a sheath for a Becker I find that a little nitpicky.

They're just watching their asses and making sure the forum doesn't have to start following certain regulations or scrutiny that befall 100% auction sites. If there weren't possible negative repercussions or the threat of spam marketing that would make this board inhospitable I'm sure they wouldn't mind price posting and business conducting outside of the proper channels. For now though there is always the option of going to the knife makers forum and posting a For Want ad. I am new here but I find the mods as well as the members all to be very gracious and patient. I'm not trying to make you look like a bad guy as I understand why it seems frustrating but the restrictions are here for reasons that are not the fault of the moderators.

Rogue Bowie answered it better than I, and I will add that its just a simple rule to not discuss pricing of a product that isn't of the brand of the hosting company. Come to think of it, we cant discuss pricing on the sheath forum as well. It seems to be a forum wide rule, one that I am not adverse to, and Ive been here for ten years with my little business. :)
