Any one here interested in making a leather sheath for the knife I am currently making?? I only work with kydex so far and this knife is too special for that. It will be a few weeks yet before it will be ready for sheath making. I will post a link to the profile of the knife in a few minutes. It will be a hunter size knife (about 8 1/8 OAL).

Here is a link to a picture that represents the profile of the, unfinished, knife: http://riflestocks.tripod.com/pics9.html Actually, this knife will be the bigger brother to the knife in the link. Handle material and such and type of steel will be different but the profile is the same.

Thanks.

Roger

Roger-
How about something along the lines of this? Only in brown.

email me: chuck@wrtcleather.com if it tickles your fancy.
Embellishments can of course be added, but I think that knife can stand on it's own.

Chuck,

Beautiful work. I'll know it when I see it. Yours may be it. Let me wait a little longer to see what else may show up. Yours is excellent and I know you can do what I want.

No rush on my end. I don't normally solicit work but I'd sure like to get my hands on that knife :D

Contact Lifter4him he is on the forums here, he makes good sheaths for a good price and he is a stand up guy.

Not trying to step on anyone's toes...But you might check the work Tess does on our site. She does sheaths for several other makers and can make pretty much anything you'd like.

Hi Roger, I am here, I just dont read the full forums as much as I should.:D Check out the Busse and Swamp Rat, and the Balisong forums for some of my work, especially the Busse forum. I've done lots of work with Ken so he knows my leather well.

MtMike, yea he is here too,;) does some good work, his work is geared to hard use sheaths that look nice as well. He doesnt have a web site yet but his work is all over the forums as well. Were mostly at the CKD forums in the leather craft area. USN also has a lot of pictures in the "sheaths and scabbards" forum from all listed here and more.

Thanks for the toss in there Ken, your a good buddy:D
Roger, if you want to talk leather, give me a buzz at armoralleather@yahoo.com I can send you pics of my work and I have a few pics of Mikes work as well.........

Martin (Sandy) Morrisey is someone you should also consider. He doesn't charge nearly enough for his sheaths. He's a great person to boot.He may still be out of town at the moment though. I think he is visiting family out on the left coast.

Thanks all. Gosh, I had no idea. So many great sheaths from so many great sheath makers.

I've got to pick one. I like all I've seen so far. I'll have it all figured out today.

I'll need one sheath for this knife. I want a sheath for each additional knife I make after that from each of the other makers I have corresponded to on or because of this thread. After that I may go back to making my own kydex sheaths. So, I'll be wanting one made by the following: Dan Koster,Chuck (WildRose), Dave Larson, Lifter, and (although I haven't corresponded yet) Tess.

One of these five I will ask, this evening, to make this one. I'm going to partially be a coward and have my Linda look at them and help me decide.

Thanks all.

Roger

Heh, I can see five unique sheaths: High ride canted, mid ride, low ride with multi carry options, a Sunday go to meetin' exotic inlay sheath, and finally a shoulder harness for those discreet times...:D I would love to see something like that!

leatherman,

I have visited your site and looked at your work. Real nice! I have seen alot of great sheath work since last evening. It is really tuff and I am having a difficult time choosing the sheath maker for this particular knife.
