Leather sheaths for Condor Machetes: seperate or together

OK guys, the votes are in: 1 version with the sheath, and a solo version without:
I really appreciate everyone getting together and giving their input on this! I'll be back in the states tomorrow.
And yes, the Golok will have a sheath version, to protect your car seats :)

Sounds great for all parties involved. Hope you had a great trip!

I've had a couple machetes "come with" very, very good sheaths. In both cases, the sheaths were actually hand made by locals in southern Mexico, and not factory production sheaths.

I'm actively waiting right now as I currently have 2 fairly crappy 'chetes and would like a couple. As it happens, though, one of the ones I need IS a garden shed stored machete and the sheath isn't as important. :D

I also have a strong sheath made for a machete that was made in Mexico. Stitched from thick leather with the welt going up the middle of the back like a scandi sheath or Finnish fillet knife. The nice part of the design is that the blade just drops into the sheath. I like that for a machete. Quick in and out.

Agreed with the locals. Many of the machete dependent areas also have sheaths stylized by their demographic location too! And they are damn fine. I'm sad that I did not get to the market to go shopping for local sheaths this time around, however there will be a next time.
