PC: Sorry it's taken me so long to respond, but I've been swamped with Christmas orders! And being the glutton for pain that I am
, I am also busy sending out the blems (I had SOMEONE order 4 yesterday: you know who you are
).
Yes, I suppose that's entirely possible. The leather they are using for the frogs is thick now (as opposed to the thinner material that the earlier GH khukuris came equipped with). I think it would actually cut down on the cost of the knife a bit, since they wouldn't have to fashion wood to fit under the leather.
DEFINITELY a doer - In fact, If I can remember, I'll see what happens if I just order some.
The only thing I can think of, from a design perspective, that may present difficulties, is how to keep a knife shaped like a khukuri from slicing the leather when withdrawing and re-holstering the piece, without sacrificing a snug fit. As you can see from the WWIII sheath, the guys at Edgeworks solved that problem rather ingeniously, but used kydex to do it.
Wait, I think I have the answer - I'll just ship about 20 mini-jungles along with the WWIIIs to be "kydexed" using the same design. Actually, I think I'll space it out and send a few of each model. How does that sound?
