Here's some sheaths I've finished up. First is my cousin's knife, second is a daily carry/user horizontal draw I wear.

Both sheaths are very comfortable to wear, and you hardly know they are there.

Very nice, sheath making is probably the part I like the least, but looks like you nailed it with them.

Thanks, Will and Andy. It's also my least favorite part, especially with leather. The bottom sheath is actually the fourth sheath I ever made, and it's amazing how comfortable it is to wear. I have another version for one of my daily carries with a wider steel clip and another slot in the leather strap for vertical carry. It's also pretty comfy.

I just started using the black steel clip on the top sheath, and I really like the feel of it. Just takes a lot of work with hand stitching :grumpy:.

BTW, both of these are strictly user sheaths. Nothing fancy or incredible about them. Partly because they're users, and mostly because I don't have the skill or the know-how to do anything fancy or incredible :D.

Good looking knives and sheathes. Where do you get the belt clips??

Very nice indeed. One tip for next time is that you can smooth out and harden the leather edges with a hot iron. That is what I and many others do, then I apply shoe sole edge stain to the edge with a Q-tip. Just a suggestion, of course.

Anjin, great tip, thanks! I've used the black shoe sole stain in the past after burnishing the leather with a buffer, but I'll definately try the hot iron tip. The main seam/edge of the sheath is burnished, but I didn't die the edges on these. I definately need to finish off the other edges around the clips and top, though.

Phil, the steel clips I found at my local Tandy store. Pricey really, but I'll find a better supplier eventually.
