Leather treatment

I also like Obenaufs. It's beeswax with some extract of pine in it. A wax treatment can be used on any type of tanned leather, but oil should only be used on leather that was originally tanned with it. It actually destroys some types of leather, makeing it break down too quickly.
If you use any of the beeswax, especially Snoseal don't use too much heat. Snoseal's directions might lead some people to accidentally overheat their boots, and too much heat is bad to put it simply. A hair dryer should be enough.

Neatsfoot Oil.

I highly recommend it! You can get it anywhere that you buy horse supplies. It is a really fine animal oil (somewhat like mineral oil in consistency) and I just apply it with a rag. Because it's a pretty thin oil, abused leather just soaks it in. I often have to apply a few coats until the leather stops absorbing it. I just wipe off the excess, and I'm good to go.

While Neatsfoot Oil is great on saddles it softens many boots beyond what I would want for durability.
