Leather wallet?

Honestly I started getting a little worried about Saddleback's apparent quality slippage after watching a couple videos on Youtube. Looks like they use much thinner leather now and don't reinforce the middle like they used to, but I don't know if that's enough to sway me from buying it or not.

I'm going with the Pocket ID wallet, still can't convince myself of the bifold right now.

Fox Creek leather sells a nice all leather USA made wallet for a reasonable price.

I carry a Saddleback Large Bifold and I love it. It fits perfectly in all of my pants pockets (cargo, jeans, & dress slacks). Lays flat, carries everything I need, and looks and smells great.
Before that I carried a Taxi Wallet, which is great if you want something a little different.

Well, I got my Saddleback ID wallet and like it so far aside from the insanely tight fittings... I know it takes awhile to break in.

I may have an issue already though, in the first (outer) card slot since it's so tight, the first time I slid a card in there it kind of started separating the two pieces of leather and now it can bunch up in the corners. Is this something I should have expected? You can kind of see it in the attached picture:

I would contact the maker and explain what is happening. This is something that you are going to use and see daily and you should be 100% satisfied. Seeing the photo it is only going to get worse.
The wallets I have used had finished edges. This wallet I used for 20 years and now it is retired.
You can see the finished edges on the card slots.
The cut mark was when somebody tried to cut my pocket to get the wallet. This happened in Guangzhou, China. I am glad they hit the wallet and not my butt.

Finished openings.

Cut from pick pocket.

They sure aren't quick to respond to emails at Saddleback. I'm waiting multiple days to hear back about my issue. They had me send them a picture of what I was talking about and said it sounds like they need to send me a replacement.

Call me crazy but I got a plain old black bi-fold wallet from wal mart for $7 and its held up great so far. Its not designer or anything but it says its genuine leather and the durability has been perfectly good in my use.

How long exactly is "so far". I've been happy with cheaper wallets in the past as well. But I've never had one last longer than 2 years before it starts to fall apart.
You can get 2 maybe 3 years out of a $25 dollar wallet, or you can spend $50 and get one that will last a lifetime.
