Leatherman Juice at rei.com

I don't mind the orange much either. It is as good a color as any of the other ones I think. Anyway, I am pleased with my S2 as well. I don't normally carry a multi-tool of any kind (basically because they are too heavy and I am not a huge fan of belt carry), so I have found my S2 very useful. Maybe it is just me, but I don't think I have ever used the file, saw, or serrated blade of any of my other Leathermans for any reason; and I have really used the screwdrivers very rarely too, although I can definitely see how they could be extremely useful. Because I rarely use the other possible implements that the other Juice tools offered, I think the S2 is perfect for me.

Does anyone find that they use the saw, serrated blade, and/or file of their Super Tool, Wave, PST, Pulse, Juice, etc. very often on a day to day basis? What do most people use their tool for? I just use my tool for this and that, and really only use the set of pliers and the scissors every day. I carry a folder so the blade will probably never get used. Otherwise, obviously the blade would be used extremely often as well.

It will be interesting to hear from Brock and others who normally carry a larger multi-tool, as to how well the Juice compares to the bigger multi-tools for durability and usefullness when being used daily.

I've used the file a few times to break burrs in bad computer cases. I'd love to see a multi tool with

NO Knife,
The saw should be a RemGrit, or hold a section of hacksaw blade
a GOOD file
Pliers with a GOOD cutter
GOOD phillips screwdrivers
Good regular screwdrivers

You can hold the rest

I used to the use the file on my Wave and Pulse alot to cut slots in project boxes (the plastic ones you get a radio shack). Haven'y done that in a while.

For backpacking, I would like to have one for tool sharpening in an emergency, but my daily carry doesn't require it.

I too would like one sans knife blade.

I really liked the chisel on the Swisstool and wish that more had one. It also makes a good prying tool.

How are the scissors on the Juice?

Great link flyingknife. Although I would use this one instead becaue I had a heck of a time sorting through all the directories to access all the Leatherman tools. http://www.sleggtools.com/manufactu...ategory=Leatherman Tools&sort_value=PRICE_USA

They have the S2 and C2 for $37.99 + $5.00 shipping = $42.99, even cheaper than the $45.00 shipped that I purchased my S2 for. Plus, as flyingknife notes in his post below, they threw in FedEx shipping, much faster than the normal mail used to ship my S2.

BTW, the scissors on the S2 are great. They are almost indentical to the scissors found on the larger Victorinox Swiss Army knives like the Super Tinker and etc. I have not used them all that much so far, but my first impressions are that they work extremely well. Much better than the previous Leatherman efforts found on the Wave, Pulse, PST II, etc.

Just ordered the Glacier. Decided on it over the Flame for when I want to carry just one tool (then I will leave my Vic Cybertool 29 at home) Will report more when I get it.

I am going to miss the ruler on the handles of the Pulse. I found that very handy.

It probably got missed since it was the last post before we went to 2 pages here, so I will ask again.

If anyone else has the Juice S2, is it offset? If you look down mine one side is about 1/8 inch above the other, I know one side is thicker, but I would think the thicker side would be centered on the thinner side? If they are all this way I won't worry about it.

I carry a ST 200 and I don't use the saw very often, but when I do have to use it, I'm very glad to have it because nothing else would work. I really appreciate being able to carry a saw with me daily since there's not another tool that can substitute for it. I don't use the blades much, but the serrated blade is good for stripping wire if I don't have my Harpy on me. The file I use on my nails and quite a few other things. I used the file to slightly reshape the handle on my G-10 handled Native and it worked perfectly. The file is another tool I'm glad to have because I do find it useful at times. I do just about everything with my ST & Micra, and haven't felt the need for a SAK because all of my bases are already covered. Whatever my LM combo can't handle, the Dremel does. Today I dismantled a shopping cart, small utility cart, and lamp, with the ST 200 doing more work than the Dremel. It's not just the tools in it that I like about it, but also the sheer strength of it. I feel like its stronger than I am so I can do whatever I want with it and I can't break it. I used the pliers and flathead to bend & pry the metal shopping cart bars, which pushed the limits of my strength, but not the strength of the ST. It's not only the tools, but the strength of the thing that make it worthwhile for me to carry. I pound nails and paint can lids with my ST - I wouldn't try that with a Juice, even if it had a serrated blade and a saw.

Ordered my Glacier on Friday from Sleggtools but not here yet. :(

Still think I want a ST200 to compliment it -- The Glacier for daily and the ST200 for heavy duty. Though if I had to ahve only one I would probably go back to the Pulse.

WEll, I just got notice from Slegg Tools that my Glacier was shipped yesterday and I should expect it next Tuesday

Not very impressed...

I got this email today and I rescind my earlier statement about not being impressed with Slegg Tools. They have excellent customer service and are going out of their way to correct a delivery problem that was FEDEX's fault, not theirs. And they are footing the bill for this.

I highly recommend them and plan to use them in the future.

With Steve's permission, I am posting his email to me

Clay,

I was looking through bladeforums this morning, and noticed that you have made a post regarding our company.

On there you state that your package was shipped yesterday, and that it will not arrive until next Tuesday, and that you are not impressed.

When I read this, I contacted our shipping dept. to see why you would be upset.

They have informed me that your package was shipped out on Friday.  Apparently FEDEX had a delay in their shipping system at a depot, and as a result all of our packages that were shipped on Friday have not shown up in the FEDEX tracking system until Tuesday.

We take pride in customer service, and I am surprised when I see a negative post in any website.

I have instructed my shipping dept. to ship you a replacement tool  via FEDEX EXPRESS, this upgrade in your shipping will be at no extra charge to you.

I hope that this shows you that we take customer service seriously, and that we value your business.

In the future if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at steve@sleggtools.com

Simply put, that IS the definition of customer service.

Nice follow-up CD. It is always nicer to hear that in the end there was a mixup and that the company was not at fault. I am glad to hear that they are taking the necessary steps to remedy the problem.
