Hi,
I have a question for the experts here:
The 4 handle "screws" holding the tools and pliers together on my Leatherman Pulse...do they unscrew? If so how can it be done?
I'm no expert, but I would imagine that there is a way to remove those with a special tool. However, since Leathermans repair/warranty service is what it is, I would suggest sending it back if a repair is needed.
So do you think they (4 pins) unscrew? or are they rivets of some sort?
As for the warranty I dont care cause I want to modify my Pulse to add a few feature: belt clip and metal saw.
In order for the implements to be replaced (if needed), my guess would be that those wheels unscrew. Perhaps one end is stationary and the opposite end turns? Or the both screw into some sort of shaft.
hi a few years ago i took an old pst to bits .I used another two pairs of pliers to grip the screws either side and gently but firmly unscrewed them , there was a bit of resistence at first as this was due to some kind of thread locking glue (it was red in colour ). Dont know if leatherman still use this glue or not and im not going to start voiding my warranty on my supertool 200 to find out .Hope this helps and dont forget to show us any pics of the mods you carry out.
This thread links to the site with the torx bits needed.
The 'red' stuff is most likely loctite, and can be removed with brute force or some heat in most cases.
