Note the small size of the "regular plier" section. On this approximately 0.5" nut, it provides about 5 points of contact - two of which are the cutters.

This may be the first time I have ever used the serrated blade on an MT. But it worked well in removing these garden vines.

Yea thats the only way I have a serrated blade is on my MT's, I use them for things like clearing bushes and cutting boxes open. I prefer PE blades but I am glad you get two blades with Leathermans.
