Leatherman Skeletool

At last! Wow, its got both a pocket clip and a carabiner for retention. I've been eagerly waiting for that model to come out ever since a pic of the proto came out from Doug Ritter's site some months back. Great design concept; a multi-tool that enhances the main knife's use.

This is what MacGyver would've used today!
 
I like the carbon fiber one. I will probably own one when it comes out, but I doubt it will replace my EDC Wave.I think I'll go clean 'er up now....
 
I'm really bummed about the combo edge on the carbon fiber model:( As other's have stated, I think that a "never dull" edge benefits a knife with softer steel and poorer edge holding like 420C. I really want a plain edge 154cm blade with the carbon fiber. <<sigh>> oh well. At this point, I'm up in the air as to which one i want to get.
A premium blade steel would make for a better stand alone EDC with no other back up or dedicated cutter. However, I really hate sharpening serrated edges. We'll see. At any rate, one of these is going to be under the Christmas tree for me;)
You would think that LM would be able to come up with some sort of snap-in saw blade for the driver. Would it work as well as the Wave or Surge saw? Probably not. However, it would be nice to have the option. I have to say that the Skeletool does look just about perfect for EDC carry barring being lost in the woods:thumbup::D

wait it has no scissors? Maybe not, I'll wait and see.
 
Only thing that would keep me from getting one would be the lack of scissors.

I would buy the standard for the plain edge. I am not fond of the serrated edges for what I do.
 
I'd rather stick with my Wave in the woods and keep my $79.95 in my pocket. I can do more with the Juice, even a Micra. It seems to be a waste of money to me. Looks cool, but I'm not going to buy it for looks. Sorry if I burst anyones bubble.

I sort of feel the same way.The juice is a great alternative to the wave once in a while.Maybe the final iteration will have a little more.He's got the knives now if you want minimal.
 
I'm not sure we need a solid rational reason to buy a Skeletool... "cool tool" sometimes works. Look for them in Feb and you can pre-order them like Gadgetman7 said...
