Leatherman stretching there value? (Folders)

Won't lie, I'm actually kind of liking the designs. Simple, neutral ergos have always appealed to me.. these all look like generally competent knives for their respective intended purposes. Didn't keep me from lol'ing and rolling my eyes at the price. Oh well.. at least they're not the only Oregon manufacturer sniffing crackrocks when it comes to pricing these days? *insert rant about voting with one's wallet, etc, etc..

I bought my Grandson a T-4 for a graduation gift. He liked it and I was pretty impressed with it.

I imagine keeping a business profitable in Oregon is difficult, and give credit to Leatherman for keeping Americans working and building quality products.

maybe they should move to Idaho like Buck did when they realized they couldn't stay in business in California anymore. plenty of states that want businesses and jobs.

“Leatherman stretching their value?” Definitely a yes in my opinion. Reminds me of an old toy I once had, a toy called Stretch Armstrong. Fun as heck to stretch and stretch but after a while it would bust and goo would come out. I can see the same thing happening with Leatherman. They have stretched the prices of this release so much that it may end up a bust! This is only my opinion of course but anymore there seems to plenty people out there with more money than brains so who knows, these things may sell like hot cakes. But, I think there are much better values out there for way less money. I guess time will tell.

Rick, I do like them too 😭. Its why the pricing sucks so much. I was really hoping for the 1-200 range.

The wine analogy where, now the multitools look like a bargain makes sense 🤔

Yeah, they all seem about +$50 more than I'm willing to pay for them, which I guess is right inline with some of the other big names these days.. I wouldn't mind maybe trying one of the folders if I could get it at a sale price one day, though as I'm seeing more videos come out showcasing less-than-stellar action, my interest is only dwindling..

Using logic we can safely say leatherman DOES know how to make knives, they have the proper tooling, machinery, facilities, and apparent expertise, but the leap they took to get from the most "knifey" multitool to a knife like the blaze was brazen, to say the least, it has precarious success. They should have R&D more, hell, put up a poll on their website and learn from their users
