Leatherman sucks!

I bought an original Leatherman back in July '93 and used it extensively until the Super came out. I bought one of those as soon as they hit the shelves and have carried it every day since. It's been to the Gulf with me 3 times (soon to be 4) and has held up to everything. The only problem I've had is a nick in the wire cutters, but that was an emergency. It cut the cable but ruined the wire cutters-I had to file the cutting blades down so I could close it. That has been my only problem. I also have a few Gerbers and like those as well. Anyone who says Leatherman sucks obviously got a lemon and was just too lazy to use one of the best warranties out there.

Wow, what traffic.
I truly enjoy reading your passionate comments. The fact that so many people feel so strongly about their multitool really warms my heart, it really does.
But, sadly I'm not joking. I even gave my supertool to a friend last year. I don't follow you, though, on the unfounded complaints. Don't your leatherman screwdrivers and pliers jaws get chipped?
I think you are right on several things IMHO:
1. The supertool is comfortable enough, I really only had trouble with my Side-Clip (and I'm not a woos, nor a troll).
2. Multitools are not designated tools.
3. I may use my tools beyond their potential.
In some respects the Wave may not have worthy competitors.
I have taken those things under consideration, and hope I haven’t offended anyone, and if I have, I apologize.
Take care, Shmulik.

I agree with some of the comments made: The fact is that the leatherman and most multi-tools are "jack of all trades, master of none."

Some of the tools on my Wave have spots of rust on them. Also, I once almost bent the philips head trying to loosen a stuck screw. A multi-tool is a great thing for everyday type stuff, but nothing replaces the toolbox for when you really need to work the hard stuff.

All in all, I'm happy with my Leatherman Wave, but you have to understand what it's intended for.

I agree with the comments about the screwdrivers being sharp, but they work very well. The awl is rather blunt and of slight use. Otherwise my Leatherman tools (LST, Wave and Micra) are great tools I have used for several years.

My last comment would be, you sir are an arse.:D

With a green warty Troll arse at that!:p :D :D :D

Shmulik: You must have bought a counterfeit imitation Leatherman tool. They have proliferated all over the market. They look like a Leatherman, but the're a cheap imitation. I own three Leatherman tools, including the Wave and Super Tool. I absolutely love each one. They have served me well without any problems. They are warranted for 30 years and Leatherman's customer service is excellent. I've looked at them all, but Leatherman's quality is top-shelf.
