My old wave has the newer version when they put the springs into the pivots to keep it from rattleing. I didn't like it at first but now I do.

I just got another Wave today and now I have one of each (one with the inserts and one without). I'm not sure which I like best yet.

It's messed up.Goes into focus, then goes out.I need a new camera.
They were making them for a while, where the saw and the file blades stuck out of the handle too far when they were closed.I had to take a tiny dremel to cut away the liner lock a little,then the ball detent fit in better and the blades went into the handle further.The stamped out blade stop hit the liner lock to make them stick out.I think it's the one I'm carrying now.
One thing that happened, and they have a different blade stop now, but on mine, the stamped out stop on the blade,(the little square piece) broke off when I dropped it in the open position.Sent it back,got a new one.I'll try to get a better picture of the bolsters.

I feel your pain. The autofocus on my point-and-shoot died a couple months ago and it was cheaper to buy a new camera then to have it repaired. If digital cameras are disposable after a couple years, this could get expensive!
