Leatherman vs Victorinox - in pocket carry

The longer I carry my Vic Spirit the more I love it. Besides the outstanding quality and f&f, its light and compact, which translates to more room in my pack for snacks, spare clothes, etc.

BTW, I keep it in my cycling/commuting backpack, so while size and weight aren't quite as critical as they may be for pocket carry they are still a definate concern. Oh, and corrosion resistance is second to none!

My father always carried the SwissChamp (the biggest of the Swiss Army Knives) in his pocket (though he wore loose-fitting slacks). I would find the Leatherman and all similar tools uncomfortable for pocket carry.
I love my Swisschamp but the Leatherman XE6 is almost exactly the same size, actually the XE6 is just a tad thinner, not so wide and is shorter (82mm as opposed to the 91mm SAK).
According to my lo-tech scales they are both the same weight (7 ounces).
In the XE-6's favor the pliers are beefier (but still not as beefy as most multi-tools).
In the Swisschamps favor it has better scissors and a better canopener, plus it has a bunch of other extra tools the XE6 doesn't, like a magnifier and a hook degorger.
Also IMO the Red of the SAK is easier on the eyes than the Leatherman's Purple/pink color.lol!
Luckily my XE6 is a gray one!
:D

On my Juice Pro (about the same as the XE 6), I have used a Dremel on the can opener and awl to make them sharper. Still no SAK performance, but definitely an improvement.

I did the same with my XE6.
Before dremeling the canopener was near useless.
Now its at least functional.
They really need to sharpen them at the factory, also maybe thicken the canopener a little too as it seems too thin/flimsy to me.
