Well, maybe a slight exageration . . .
Day before yesterday, on the morning of March 7, I went to vote, in my usual inconsistent pattern, on what passes for a cold and stormy day in Southern California, and - behold! - the door to the Lutheran church social hall was jammed in the open position by a broken automatic door closing gizmo, and the precinct volunteers were bundled up and shivering, and somebody said something about how maybe her husband might be along later with some tools.
So, after I finished voting for the lesser of two evils, I drew my trusty Leatherman Wave and went to the rescue. I should have had my SpydeRench with the crescent wrench for the big heavy duty screw that was deep in the wood over the doorway, but the pliers got a good enough grip on it to turn it, and the phillips head did the rest, turning the door into the ordinary manual variety.
With the Lutheran church social hall now safe for democracy, I left one of my business cards behind and drove off into the sunrise.
