Hope I'm posting this in the right forum.

Wife got a new black oxide Wave for my birthday. I like the molle sheath that came with it, but I wanted to carry it on me, so I got a new sheath for it. I'm not much of a blingy person, so I'll probably take a Sharpie to the yellow Leatherman logo.

Bit extender in one loop:

And a firesteel in the other. The lid holds the firesteel down nicely:

Wave, extender, firesteel, one of the two sets of bits, and a firesteel striker behind it:

I am aware that there's a pocket on front as well, behind the velcro, but the striker kind of sticks out a bit.

Update:

Used SuzukiGS750EZ's idea of a pen clip, to add to the extender to keep it from falling out:

Got this idea from "T Co" at BCUSA. Added a ranger band in the front pocket:

Makes a nice set of extra hands to hold the pliers tight, like so:

The black one looks great. Lots of luck with it.

Thanks. I found out later after I received the bit extender that they make a black oxide one to match the black Wave for about $5 more. It'll be mine soon.

very similar to my surge kit. the wire stripper on the can opener tool works great for striking firesteel. check it out to save some room in your kit. :-)

If you can, try and find a pen clip to go on the bit extender for some added security while in the sheath. But nice setup, I have a surge with the bit kit, bit extender and a streamlight microstream instead of fire steel. I also have the leather/nylon sheath.

Thanks for the heads up. The only reason I kept the striker in there, was because I didn't want to wear off the black oxide on my tool, lol. I wasn't sure how tough that coating is. It takes up minimal room.

Good idea. I was surprised by how loose the loop was, when placing the extender in. Seems they would have made it a bit tighter, since that's what it's for. I carry a multi mode mini maglite in a sheath on my belt at all times, so I didn't need a flashlight in the loop. Have seen several people do that though.

Yeah you would think it would fit more snugly. I thought the same thing when I bought it but quickly realized it would get lost had I not put a clip on it.

Great idea. I haven't ever carried my bit extender, because the damn thing falls right out the bottom of the sheath. What bonehead came up with that sheath design!?

I stopped carrying my Wave a week or so back and started to pocket a SAK hunstman to see if I could get by on that. What a stupid move that was, I really didn't realize how much I was using my wave/pliers. I've got the leather/nylon sheath and because of you I'm now going to go and see how much I can comfortably cram into it. Great setup you've got. Thanks for the pics.

I ordered an SAK Farmer. Should get it in a few days. Between the Wave and the Farmer, it should pretty much cover it all. Another reason I ordered the Farmer, is because it's less "threatening" looking than the Dozier folder I carry. The Dozier isn't threatening to me, but I would much rather pull a an SAK out of my pocket in front of a cop, than a Dozier. Not that I would have to, just sayin'...

Btw, thanks.

Don't get my wrong, the SAk's are awesome. I have a farmer, 3 pioneers and the huntsman. I always keep an alox model in my pocket but I've realized over the past week that I need to also continue to carry some sort of plier based tool. You will love the farmer, it was my first actual vic. and now I'm hooked.

Been wanting the Farmer for some time now. Went ahead and pulled the trigger. You know, always nice to do at Christmas time, lol. The pliers will come in handy, for sure.

I carry a Farmer left front pocket under my wallet. Totally out of the way, easily accessible. My gear bag holds my Skeletool for the pliers but most days that stays home.

I keep giving away big multitools. I'm down to a Swisstool Spirit now. Don't ask for it! :)

The Farmer seems to be the most popular SAK. Haha, I was considering the Spirit. It's a goodin.

Updated photos in the OP. Used SuzukiGS750EZ's idea of a pen clip, to add to the extender to keep it from falling out, and added a ranger band to hold the pliers shut.

That's funny; I keep giving/trading away not only big multitools but SAKs as well. I am down to a Spirit X for edc; it does everything I need. SAK-wise, I am down to my original Huntsman from when I was a kid.
