Watched a program about the making of a Leatherman tool , very interesting ! The blade is made of 154cm , a very nice steel.

Leatherman blade steel will vary with the model. The blade steel for the plain edge blade on my Charge Ti is S30V.

My EDC is a Leatherman Wave, very hamdy, actually preffer it over many SAK's and Gerbers. Althogh, while it has a good blade on it, I think the main reason I carry it is for the tools, these days I often have another blade in the opposite pocket. Usually something with assisted opening, but still, I can go without the seccondary, days without my Wave are rather sad days. (Unless I'm carrying some other amazing knife(s). Somedays I just carry my Laguiole, but I don't like risking such an exspensive blade. I can beat up the Wave, because I can easilly replace it.

I've tried several pocket tools over the years. Some really good, some not so good.
My old, first model Leatherman still gets used. So does a newer wave. The others I did not keep.

I did forget to mention the reason I chose the Wave over other pocket tools is that the blade is easically accesable, so when I just need to use it as a knife, I don't have to fiddle around opening it for a simple task. Any pocket tool without easy acess to the blade has slim chances becoming an EDC in my book.

I have the PST, Supertool, newer Wave, and Surge. I love both the Wave and the Surge. The Surge is really hefty. I usualy edc my Wave.

I have a Kick and original Pocket Survival Tool, both of which are very high quality and practical tools. I don't have experience with Victorinox's multitools, but I have to say as a general user I prefer both over the Powerlock and Gerber Diesel...

I think you have a Charge TTI then.

I have a Charge TI (before the TTI) and it has a 154CM blade. Very nice blade shape but I wish it was the S30V.

I have about a dozen leatherman's and love them. But I did buy a Swisstool spirit X.

Buy one if you get a chance, trust me. Awesome tool.

If any of you guys actually use a multi tool alot for work pick up the new Supertool 300. It's a beast.

Had a Charge, S30V, which i sold. Right now ive got a Wave, knifeless Fuse (favorite), Expanse E33 and a Juice CS4.

The Wave is packed away and substituted by the Swisstool X. I EDC the knifeless Fuse at work, and the Juice CS4 is in my gym-bag. The Expanse just gets abused :D

LM makes some good tools

The blade on my Skeletool CX is 154CM as well, very good steel from what I can tell. I also carry a small Leatherman Micra, both tools have their place throughout my day!

Along with my ZT 0301, I EDC a new-style Wave. I also have the "bit kit" with it.

My wave came with a bit kit as well, very, very usefull, that is, if I can find the extra bits when I need them. I EDC the basic +/- bit. I got good use out of the hex bits fixing up a CCC balisong
