Leatherman

i find myself using the serrated on a lot more, partially because i dulled the main blade opening a can of tuna and haven't sharpened it back yet. but they are for sure handy, same with all the screwdriver bits!

 Why would you want to open a can with a knife blade instead of the perfectly good can opener?

Since it will accompany your primary knife, you don't really need a multitool with a knife. Take a look at the Knifeless Fuse. It's 2 oz lighter than the Wave yet all the tools lock. Since it's knifeless, you can carry it to places where knives are prohibited.

If I only had one multi, I think it would be the Wave. It's got about the same tools as the Charge for less money and 420HC holds an edge pretty darn well and is easy to sharpen. The serrated blade is 420 on the Charge anyway, so that's the same as the Wave. With the money you save over a Charge you can get the bit kit and that bit extender thingy to go with your Wave. Get a Sharpmaker too to keep the blades tip top. Whatever you get, Powernoodle is right, once you start carrying some kind of Multi, you'll never want to be without one.

 on all the above. Although personally I carry a Charge, the sole reason was having lucked into an offer I couldn't refuse ;) . Actually, at the time I had been shopping for a Wave. For reasons well stated by Marlinaholic, I believe the Wave to be a better deal, and don't forget the Sharpmaker :D .

I have a Leatherman Wave, XE6, CS4 and 5 Micras so i do like Leathermans however for almost 3 years now i've been EDC-ing a Victorinox Spirit.
If i was starting from scratch again i'd just get a Vic Spirit X, definitely my favorite multi-tool!

Some time ago I tried out a few Leatherman offerings, didn't care much for them, although thought some showed promise. Lately, I have been sporting a Crater c33T, which I like a whole lot.

Not my first choice for serious work, but as an all-around EDC, the blade is a good size for utility, and flipping it, after some practice, has been serious fun :) . The screwdrivers are the same high quality as on the multi-tools, and even though non-locking, they stay firmly in place when deployed. I was pleased to find that the removable bit extender for fixed ph head Leatherman tool models, also fits the Crater.

Although the pocket clip isn't bad, I removed it, preferring to carry the knife by carabiner clipped to a split ring on a belt hanger. Carried this way takes little pocket space and weight is virtually unfelt. Said carabiner has also done itself proud opening many beer bottles this hot summer. I just love the way it catches the cap, also how sweetly it folds into the handle  .

Next to evaluate is long term reliability. We'll see how that goes.

I would narrow it down to Waves , Charges , or the Skeletool family ( Freestyle and Skeletool ) . Juices have crude implements , the big boys aren't worth the weight penalty .
