leaving it to the vote

I really like the look of the grohman' Im a little concerned about the vagueness of the steel "german highcarbon stainless" What is that how does it fair as opposed to other more familiar stainless steels....and how do thes knives hold up in the field?? The 5 1/2 inch blade of the #4 seems a little big, but the blade width of the original seems a little thin. (just thinking outloud"

Grohmann makes good stuff-- have for 50 years. The #1 is a great utility knife, but not as broad or straight spined as some of the others on the list. It would be great for real day-to-day chores-- cooking, cleaning a fish, general cutting. Grohmann is making some flat grind versions of their classics that bear a look.

Just voting from the list, I would go with the fixed Griptilian.

Couldn't go wrong with the Fallkniven.

Heck, they'll all cut stuff. I always have the *perfect* knife until I see a new one :)
