LED Flashlight for home advice

You can get inforce 6vx for under $100. Nice customer service, made in the USA. Used it for a long time (currently attached to a AK)
Now I use a Surefire E1D defender. Paid ~$130 and is everything I wanted for a pocked flashlight

Sunwayman d40a. 900 lumens, runs on AA and is around $60.
Chinese but great customer service. Throws about 350 yards and had multiple modes including an ultra low moon mode that makes it a great all around.

Surefire G2X Pro has two settings, 320 lumen and 15 lumen setting that will run longer.
Everything you need and nothing you don't.
But everyone needs a headlamp. I like the Princeton Tech Remix Pro that also takes a CR123 battery.
Hands-free is awesome! I keep one on my bedside table.

I've been using a number of different O-light flashlights for years now. My EDC Light is an Olight S15 Baton (1aa light) with a body tube extender (now a 2AA light for double the run time). Olight has lots of good lights to choose from. EagleTac is another good brand to look at. I'm more in to small lite weight flash lights. But If you look at those brands, your sure to find something that meets your needs.

GoingGear is a dealer on here and they have a good selection of lights to choose from, including a lot of the brands mentioned in this thread. They are my go to source for lights and light accessories.

So I bought the Maglite 300LX and the Sreamlight HL3. I also am considering picking up a EagleTac D25C Clicky or 2. I thought makes a good range and value. Other than the LX, they use CR123's, which I like for performance and availability. Also have a 10 year shelf life.

Use this search tool to help narrow down your choices. You can easily filter them down by battery, lumens, cost, throw, etc., all at the same time. In several cases you can find lights that are brighter, smaller, and run longer off cheap batteries, than others that cost 2-3 times more.

best home light I have found is a Streamlight Stinger. Great LED light, rechargeable, priced right. Lasts for ever

Calling a maglite a POS is a bit much , yeah the old bulb ones were crap , but the LED oneS are good for the money IMO

My work used to throw awaythe two and three d-cell Maglites if they even so much as dared to flicker so I always snatched them up, as a result I have a Maglite in every room of the house. Spend the extra $2 and get the LED replacement bulb or just buy the LED version also I bought rechargeable batteries and a charger.

I stick with maglites. I have a 2d with a nite ize led drop in, a 4d with a nite ize drop in, and a bunch of aa mini maglites/mini maglite pro's. A 2d is $20 new. A mini maglite is $8 new. Nite ize drop ins are $8 for each. The D cell lights get about 30 lumens, but they last forever l. The 4d was $5 at a flea market. A mini maglite pro is 270 lumens and about $30. If you can get $100 together, you can outfit yourself with a fleet of usa made maglites.

Holy shit you guys get maglites cheap. Over here a two aa led pro plus maglite is 70 Aussie dollars . That's at the local surplus store though. Can get them cheaper from that auction site of course. In Woolworths an eveready led headlamp is 42 Aussie dollars! Even a dolphin torch is 35 Aussie dollars

I was in Walmart the other day looking at their flashlights. I intended to buy another large D-cell mag light for around the house. Price was around $30-$35. Decided I had enough flashlights, or at least until the next one catches my eye. I like flash lights, I just don't want to spend gobs of money on them individually. Here is the Rayovac I mentioned earlier in the thread that I have discovered I really like. There is a 250 lumens version that I have which is the same price. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Rayovac-...C-_-NavPLPHorizontal1_rr-_-NA-_-202968168-_-N

And yes, I am advocating that you flashlight users take a look at one of these.

Added: I read some of the reviews and found them interesting since I have been using one of these for a couple of months now. The one that sticks out in my mind is the "works when it wants to" comment. I have some other low cost flashlights that in fact only work when they want to. They tend to head to the trash eventually. So far, other than when the batteries are run down somewhat and it goes from two settings to one, this light hasn't done that. I have four of them now.

+11ty billion. I have used one of those at work for years and it gets a workout every day. It's head and shoulders above any small flashlight.

I've owned a lot of flashlights over the years, but i like this J5Tactical the best. It's small enough for everyday carry with extra AA battery, bright light and battery will last an for an hour of use. Best of all, they are inexpensive.
