I would take Kershaws new proprietary steel of 14C28N over AUS8 but they are both great steels. Kershaw like one person said is using so many different steels. 14C28N, AUS8, S30V, 13c26, 12c26, 8Cr13Mov, 440C and I think I even saw one of the exotics in there as well. ZPD what ever I think is the one I saw.
I would take the geometry of the leek over the twitch any day. I have the OD-1 in
14c28N and I love it. When you pick it up it is hard to lay down. The frame lock is much more simple than the lock in the twitch. And I hate the safety on the twitch. And the OD-1 I have is the one with the little round flipper non assisted blade. I did a little race against my Son holding one of my autos from my collection. I could just about beat him with that OD-1. When you get it (grin) you will see how absolutly smooth that blade comes out. You think air is behind the blade pushing it out it is so so very smooth for a non assisted. Actually I have not found one assisted that I thought was anything close to smooth. Stiff to actuate unlike the OD-1. I would take the OD-1 over an assisted any day. My son could not even believe how an action could be so smooth and just manualy operated.
I did not read the whole thread you may have one or the other already. Man I see you have a photo of that leek with an assisted blade. My Son has one and you go to open the knife only to find the Da-- safety has engadge. Get the manual and you will be way happier. The OD-1 G-10 plain.

My opinion Go for the OD-1 G-10 with plain blade and framelock side. I have the black out version and wished I would have gotten the plain. If you scratch a plain blade you always have the oportunity to refinish the blade. In black I suppose you could also but it would be way harder.
Good Luck,
Daniel
