Folks, Is a crkt frame lock shizuka noh ken practical or safe for use by a left hander? Any advice from someone with practical experience would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Best, Joe

Fellow lefty here. I don't have the model you're referring to but I do have a few frame locks that are "right handed." I can disengage the locks safely enough with minimal effort. As I'm sure you're familiar, whether lefty or righty, you still have to put your finger in the path of the blade when disengaging the lock. For me personally, my only requirement is that the pocket clip can be mounted on the left side. I don't mind whether a lock is lefty or righty as long as I can mount the pocket clip for left handed carry. Although to caveat that, a left handed frame lock is a wonderful thing. The left handed CRK Umnumzaan I own is every bit as amazing as the press about them claims to be. CRK and DPX are the only companies I can think of immediately that does left handed framelocks out the factory. Hope this helps.

Lefty here also. I don't know that model but I do know that the Spyderco PM2, Manix 2 and most of the Sage knives are great for lefties. Any Benchmade's with the Axis lock are great also.

Ambi here! Benchmade Axis will be favourable. It will be tough to find a left-handed liner/frame lock, but there are the odd ones out there!

The way I do frame, liner, and back locks is disengage the lock with my left hand and adjust my trip so to not guillotine fingers and press the spine against my thigh or side to close the blade. Just make sure the muscle memory is down before you do it mindlessly, stabbing yourself rather hurts.
