Ive been out of the knife world for a while and I'm looking for a fully Ambi or left handed flipper. Lock type isn't a concern but it must be lh or Ambi. Price also isn't much of an issue but availability is, otherwise I'd probably go custom.

I really like the new benchmark amicus but the safety isn't Ambi and I've heard they don't take much to open, so safety in the pocket is a concern. The axis flipper is my top choice right now though I am not crazy about its design. Thanks!

Buck marksman, its the smoothest flipper out there and is fully ambidextrous. It also will close like an axis lock when you get used to the locking mechanism. There is also a model out there with s35vn steel and G10 handles if you don't like 154cm and aluminum.

That's a new one to me, thanks. There doesn't seem to be a lot of options out there.

Yah, lefties tend to get left out a lot on these type of things. The Buck Marksman is one of my favorite knives, its light, fits my very large hands well, and is a joy to open and close. It's made other flippers feel slow and cumbersome to me.

A.G. Russell's Skorpion series knives are ambidextrous, drilled for 4 pocket clip positions, and are shipped with two types of pocket clips.

Just picked up a Cold Steel Code 4 and loving it. Full ambi. Comes with lefty clip and thumb stud is reversible as well. Super thin and light weight design. Lock mech is a little stiff but should break in nicely.

Spyderco Dice or Domino. 4-position clip, flipper and thumbhole opening, titanium framelock, great ergonomics.

Ferrum Forge has in every serie's some "lefty's"!i am a lefty my self, and do very well with a Spyderco ParaMilitary!

I'm a lefty and have the Benchmade 300 and 300-1. Both flip easily with little to no wrist.

Are flipper framelocks any worse for a lefty than a righty? Seems a thumb stud framelock yes. But a flipper makes opening ambi. Closing, well why is pulling with the thumb really worse than pushing with it? I would think any good flipper framelock would work well lefty. I've never had an issue opening or closing mine with my left hand.

Edit: same for linerlock flippers. No issues using them lefty at all either.

I am righty , but needed to pocket my knife on my weak side.

The PM2 holes in the blade makes it a lot easier to open the knife using your left thumb fick!

I really like the 300s. One of my favorite flippers

Size at 3" is good for me and it's beefy. Just know that the Axis flipper isn't like other friction flippers that have initial resistance that needs to be overcome to flip properly. The 300 doesn't and does use the natural motion and momentum. It's more of a flicker then flipper. Like flicking the paper football through the goal posts. It's not gonna flip if not flipped properly by flicking.

It does feel all natural, no assist. It is different, but options are good, right?

Front flippers are quite ambidextrous.
I can easily open Boker Exskelibur 1 with my left hand.
Disengaging the frame lock is also easy, even though I am not lefty.

Miso

Benchmade also offer the 320 Precinct, an Axis lock flipper that's very lefty friendly and can be had for a bit over $100. It has a deep carry clip, good quality G10, 154CM steel and comes with plain or serrated blade, black or satin finish.
