Lefthanded Clip For A Righthander

Yesterday at work I was cutting twine that had got tangled up in a Tractor mounted mower . Because of it position etc I had hold my Delica in my left hand for the majority of the time . The tangle was a huge mess and it probably took me 10 minutes to finally get it all cut off .
While using the knife in my left hand it became obvious that the pocket clip was not digging into the palm of my hand like it does when using it righthanded and was actually more comfortable .
So with that thought in mind I grabbed my " Old Faithful " Delica ZDP189 that was my everyday work knife before I got addicted to Hap40 and swapped the clip over to the other side . I'll carry it like this for the next few days and see how I like it .
Has anyone else experimented with moving the clip to the ' Darkside " ?

I insist that my tactical folder be set up this way. When I carry a locking folder, it is "wave" opening enabled. This allows me to draw into reverse grip edge out.

Do you plan on carrying it in the same pocket as usual?

I have just started my Christmas break today , and I'm just sitting around in gym shorts with the Delica clipped IWB I'm my usual position just behind my right hip a 4 o'clock .
The knife is backwards compared to how it would usually sit , but it's no big problem to draw it out and open the knife .
When I wear jeans it will be interesting to see how it feels and I may end up moving it to a different pocket from my usual RFP .

I have thought about trying this as well actually. I was checking out a couple of my uncles knives the other day (he's a lefty) and noticed that they all felt very comfortable in my right hand. Let us know what you think after trying it!
The orange back spacer looks pretty badass too by the way!

Charlie Mike, that's a sweet idea! Definitely trying that one out!

That knife looks nice with the clip out into the right position.

I remember watching your video with your ZT 0620 and decided to do the same with mine after a little practice it definitely feels a lot more smooth.

I was recently on a trip with a few guys and they wanted me to change they clips to left handed carry cause I took my Leatherman with the T6 tip. It was confusing why they were all right handed but insisted carrying them in their left pockets.. To each is to his own but I just find it odd.

Like you mentioned the difference comfort in hand is quite noticible , and my main reason behind this experiment .
The clip on the Delica is shaped in such a way that when gripping the knife your middle finger automatically sits in the bend of the clip like its a contour of the grip and is both comfortable and secure .
Changing the clip to the dark side might be a good idea for a knife that is used for long periods of time , but it does cause some changes of how you pocket the knife which I'm still working through .
It's hard to take a pic with one hand but here is one that shows where the middle finger falls when you grasp the knife , it's actually very ergonomic .

I use lefthanded carry on larger folders which I will typically carry outside waistband. For smaller knives or pocket carry, the clip is on the right hand side.

The blade points toward the direction of the thumb with lefthand carry outside waistband, for immediate deployment. Righthand carry requires flipping the knife as the side you open with is facing your back.

I am a righty but carry lefty because I carry my keys in my RFP. I was curious about whether your trick would apply to my Spyderco Dice, but unfortunately I can't actually try it because the clip screws are too short to engage through the thicker G10/CF scale. However, perhaps because the overall beefiness of the Dice handle, it works out pretty much the same. The part of my middle finger closest to the palm slips right into the curved portion of the clip.

All of this makes me wonder why no knife smith has never invented a retractable clip; one which retracts into the handle when the folder is opened and comes out as the knife is closed?
