I would be interested in buying more spyderco specifically left handed frame locks. Some of spydercos best designs are frame locks ie; domino southard and many more. Unfortunately I don't buy them because I'm left handed and have to use compression or back locks. The only alternative to this is going to a custom maker or to order a crk lefty. Even if they were limited quantities I'm sure they would sell. Wouldn't you lefties agree!

I would like to see this, and I'm not a lefty.... spyderco seems to answer to their customers, and I would like to see them be big in the game of lefty frame locks.

I would love to see this. I'm sure I'd pick up a southard. Wouldn't mind a lefty GB(liner) either.

Came across this.. So about 22%'of men are left handed.. you have more clout than I expected.

Thanks for the replies so far, I also forgot to mention a lefty techno would be ridiculously awesome...

There are a few lefty knives out there. I have the Spyderco Military which now is out of production, a couple CRKs and some truly ambidextrous knives.

I think on the production side of the equation, the best we’re going to get is ambidextrous. That’s not to say in a blue moon a limited run may materialize, but don’t hold your breath.

What's bothersome are the exclusively right handed knives. No attempt to even throw us a bone by at least providing a clip option for left handed carry.

While adapting to all or most right handed locking mechanisms, sadly I find one in a liner lock that I just can’t make work, in closing anyway, the great and beautiful Gayle Bradley.

I'm sure a lot of it is the cost to produce, in sprint runs your using a different material but the same molds templates jigs and so forth. In a lefty, it's all reversed so that means completely different molds templates jigs machining codes etc. but I'm still convinced that if spyderco took there best selling frame lock made a lefty version it would be a decent hit. (At least I think)

It is frustrating to see so many awesome Spyderco products that are oriented for right handed users. I guess the reality of the situation is that there are just not sufficient lefties out there to justify the expense of making lefty specific versions. Wish it was otherwise as I would love a left handed Slysz Bowie...

As a lefty, I have yet to run across a framelock that I couldn't operate easily with my left hand. Sure, it's a little less safe, but framelocks are fairly ambidextrous, so long as the framelock/frame are fairly symmetrical.

I am ambidextrous, wearing my knife clipped inside the left front pocket most days. I don't do this because I favor one hand over the other, its mainly because I prefer my knife on my non-dominant side when wearing my firearm. Having put that out there, I will support more lefty models. The feature would be rather handy......pun intended...:D

Ive always wanted a lefty framelock but i get by without problem i with my collection. My spydies are: domino, lionspy, para2, valotton.
Some framrlocks are not lefty friendly, from my time with my friends southard i know i will never own one even tho i love it. It is not fun at all with the left hand, not even a left pocket clip position which is your first red flag, then the spydie hole is covered completely on the left side and i find the lockbar difficult in the left hand. Havent found many knives that unfriendly to the left hand but the southard is definitely one. Im pretty ambidextrous especially with knives and forget which habd im even using, but i carry left pocket only. So if a knife doesn't even have a option for a left pocket carry im out.

I agreed with this, in some rare instances, such as the techno I find it to be easier.

That said, if Spyderco released any frame lock models as a lefty specific I would buy two of each.

Some like the domino, Slysz Bowie, and techno are in my opinion acceptable to operate as a lefty. The spyder flick is only possible that way.

Others, such as the southard, are an unfortunate impossibility.

There is really only three lock styles that are totally lefty friendly. Of those three Spyderco produces two. None of which are on my preferred Spyderco models that I EDC.

Learning to operate frame and liner locks as a left hander I feel gives me an advantage in the ability to truly be ambidextrous in the ability to operate these knives with either hand. I have used this ability on numerous occasions when only one hand was available.

All this rambling aside, I would love a lefty Ti millie, southard, domino, Bowie, whatever they could churn out.

I am a lefty and own two lefty frame locks. It is nice to have a true left handed frame lock but honestly, it isn't a deal breaker. I've not found a right handed knife that I can't use and or operate very easily. The Military came close though, didn't care for the pocket clip placement in hand.

That said, if there were a lefty frame lock, I'd be interested in it.

Two points I'd like to make, 1 is I'm aware they made a military in left hand version whether or not it was discontinued due to sales or not I don't know, but the military to me is a knife that's a little big to carry even the pm2 is borderline big to me. So I'm just saying is it fair to judge how a knife will sell from previous lefties? Maybe. People whom own militaries say it's an amazing knife even surpassing their pm2. Ive never handled one so I don't know.

Point 2, I would be interested in some of the same frame locks knives but In a different lock, I understand that that concept is a whole other can of worms but think of a domino flipper with bolt action... It's left and right freindly.

I'm a reformed lefty (weird cultural thing that I had no say about as a one-year-old) but would love to have a left-hand dominant framelock, just for kicks and to have a knife that no-one else would ever want to borrow.

a lefty Southard would be great, especially in some sort of unique sprint coloration and/or steel.

I heard someplace that the Japanese consider left handed people inferior, therefore all lefties are trained righties. Would I be hitting close to the mark on your situation?

Back on topic: A lefty compression lock PM2 would be awesome. I'd get one or two, for sure.

Spyderco already has the tooling for a LH military.... soooooo

My LH military is getting worn down after years of use, it would be nice to get a new one (hint hint).
