Lefty alert! Show support here if you would like to see spyderco lefty frame locks!

I really feel for you lefties, there are many knives that simply aren't lefty friendly. The problem comes in when a manufacturer needs to consider, A. what are the logistical costs of manufacturing, B. how many to make and of what model, C. will they actually sell once they are made. I'm sure this is even more to it than that, but this is just from my limited understanding of what goes into making a production knife.

Just when deciding on a hypothetical Spyderco 2015 Forum knife it is hard to reach a perfect consensus. What if only half of the left-handed people want to buy the model chosen. That really limits demand, and that is after setting up all the tooling for a left-handed build.

It would be awesome to have more lefty friendly framelocks, but as Firelord pointed out there are more ambidextrous lock designs that Spyderco offers.

Just for kicks, specifically which model would you guys want to see done left-handed? My vote would be for the Sage 2. IMO it is most likely to sell, as it is neither too small or too large, and it is widely regarded as a great knife. Also, the machining work is not as extensive as the Slysz Bowie, so it may be more economical to make a lefty version.

Spyderco has accommodated we lefties in many of their models, and for that I am grateful. I have carried my lefty Military every day for several months, and I'd be very excited to see a lefty version of the fluted titanium version of the Military, but I don't see that it would make sense in terms of marketing. Spyderco's various lock-backs with four-way clips are enough for me. Of course, the issue doesn't apply to their fixed blades, so my next purchase will likely be the Reverse, which I anticipate eagerly.

I couldn't handle it anymore, I just bought a domino to see if I can't live with operating a righty frame lock, I heard it's easy to disengage so it might be alright.

The Domino is a good right handed frame lock for a lefty. A favorite of mine.

When I found out the left handed Military was being discontinued I made sure to pick up a spare.

I'd love to see a sprint run left handed Military in CPM-3V.

I carry my knives almost exclusively left handed. With that said, I don't generally mind frame or liner locks that are right handed as long as they offer the option of moving the pocket clip over. With knives like the the GB it doesn't really matter as there is equal access to the spydie-hole with either hand. One thing I don't like is where a knife offers the option for the clip to be moved over, but there really isn't great access to the hole (Slysz Bowie for example)

Mixed feelings. On the one hand, I'm sure lefty versions of some of Spyderco's most popular framelocks would sell. On the other, I'm no fan of RIL knives, Spyderco or otherwise. The exposed lockbar totally turns me off. I'd be much more likely to purchase a lefty Sage 1.

I wish I would have purchased two but only have one, I would buy three in 3V though.

I think keeping it a liner lock is the best idea, IMO the Ti only drives up the price.

I just let my Cruwear Millie go because I realized it wasn't ever going to get used much over my lefty.

Have this pic handy, so why not:

Like others have noted, I don't really have a problem using most righty knives with either hand, but it's still awesome to have a true left hand knife.

Fingers crossed that we see another run of the left hand military so I can get a backup. A lefty sprint would be even better.

(Not a big fan of frame locks, but would probably buy one if they did a lefty run of something.)

While I still stand by my previous statement that exclusively lefty versions of Spyderco's largely symmetrical framelocks are by and large unnecessary, I would like to see an ambidextrous or lefty version of designs like the Techno. I just received one in the mail and it's a truly excellent knife that is impossible to easily open with my left hand.

I always like to see more knives designed for lefty's. That said, I'm glad there aren't as many. I have enough problems trying to resist purchasing those that are, and I don't need to start a collection.

I'd be interested in playing around with a frame lock. They just don't appeal to me, visually speaking. They seem....unbalanced, somehow. I prefer having scales on both sides. Being a lefty doesn't help...... I've been buying less Spydercos for those very reasons. Shameful, really:(.... Cause I love Spidies:)

Lefty framelock would be interesting. Either way we need more lefty love from Spyderco. Especially with the discontinuation of the left handed Millie.
