Lefty Ouparator in 1095

that's a beauty. I really like the jimping (or whatever it is called) on the lock part. Very cool.

I should have mine wednesday. Yipee!!!!

:)

speaking of that. STR were you able to do the traction grooves on the spine of the blade and handle. i couldnt tell from the pictures

No I haven't gotten to that yet but I do know its coming up.
Also, I forgot that I have to drive to Tulsa tomorrow morning for a CE course with the wife that starts at 8:30 until noon. So we'll be gone most all morning and into part of the afternoon.

Should be home around 1 or 2pm though.

Did I say blade sweep? Hey, there is no sweep on that warncliff blade, I was looking upside down. Duh. The jimping is a nice touch and this will be a stout little folder. Good work as usual STR.

Ok Sixstrings this one I'm calling done. I realize you probably won't see this until tomorrow after I'm gone for the morning and part of the afternoon but I suspect it will be in the mail soon as I hear back from you. I'll check back with you when I get back to town.

The blade is gun blued, the traction grooves work like a charm and the knife is smooth and sharp. Look for my instructions I give to everyone in your inbox soon.

Thanks my man. Its been fun getting another 1095 folder up on my forum. I really love this steel.

Got a couple of early sun up pics loaded in my post before this one for you Jon but still dark I think. Still I think you can get the idea.

Its flawless and ready to go.

I may be able to sign on later if I'm lucky because the course is at a hotel so hopefully I can use my laptop on wireless. No shop time today I don't think. Looks like I get to visit Harbor Freight though.

Thanks

Well, looks like I will be able to check in with ease. The wireless system is nice at the Raddison so I can pretty much do all I can at home except work. Got a Sonic right across the street and other than being a bit chilly in here its not all that bad.

The bad news is the wife's course is until 3:30 this afternoon not noon as I had thought so looks like I'm wrapped up here for the day. Later I plan to go out to some pawn shops and knife stores and of course to Harbor Frieght to pretend I'm a kid in a candy store. :D

Sixstrings you are going to like this knife. I wish the pics could represent what I see in my hand.
You'll see what I mean soon.

Ok I managed to get some better pics in the sun today of it right before packing it up to mail out. In case you didn't know, if you drag your mouse arrow over the picture after clicking a thumbnail you can then click the little orange box with blue arrows in the right hand corner to enlarge it to full size. Oh and what appears to be a scratch on the blade clip side view doesn't show up in the hand so I don't know what that is.

These are much better for seeing it I think.

I figured as much. The folder went out to you this morning. You are going to need to sit down to open this one. I don't want you passing out when you pull it out and get a gander of it in your hand or nothing! :D Ok, I may be reaching a bit high there. Just a fantasy I know.

Also, I insured it so you may have to sign for it. Not sure on that.

The knife came in the mail yesterday. I would have sent you an email previously, but I never had a chance to post or email.

Upon opening(ripped open) the box I showered my kitchen with wood fragments! Didnt see that coming but it was all in good fun. My jaw dropped when i first handled it. Unbelievable action on it as you can easily flick it open or just open it smoothly as the detent added some friction to the blade so it wouldnt swing freely.

The sebenza I always carry got tossed aside as I slid the ouparator into my pocket. The clip made it look like some kind of fancy pen in my pocket and the knife itself was erased from view. The way it rode in my pocket was unlike any other knife I owned. (I feel like im writing some kind of romance novel but i really do love this knife)

It essentially blew the sebenza out of my pocket. The texturing and traction grooves you did on the handles make this something beyond ordinary. I know the artsy stuff isnt your forte, but it was definately in good hands. The blued blade also adds something special to finish it off. I can tell that every part of the design of the knife has had in depth thought regarding it. I am more than proud to tell everyone about this blade.

Thank you for hand crafting one of the best knife purchases I have made in a while. This will not be the last blade I plan to order from you.

Wow sixstrings seeing this makes me want my ouparator right now!! I loved it when you said "It blew the Sebenza out of my pocket", I hope mine does the same!
Steve

Oh Steven. Soon now. Very soon on yours.

I work fast but I do tend to be a very moody maker really and have to be in the moment and the right mood to do them. Once the mood strikes I get er done though and usually in record time!

Sixstrings. Good to hear you like it. I thought you might. :D Oh yeah. On the wood chips> I test the edges sometimes in various ways, most of those were sliced up with your knife and they make pretty decent packing materials. Sorry for the mess though.

Enjoy.
