I know the model just released, and it's the product of a particular maker's design, but will there ever be a lefty version of this?

Has there ever been a left version of a collab? You guys definitely get shafted when it comes to that.

With a flagship model of the Military losing its left-hand version, I suspect Spyderco hasn't found sales of lefty versions to produce much profit.

Did you see TuffThumbz's video? He handled it nicely left handed. He also took it apart, pretty cool with the internal stop pin.

Of all Spyderco's recent releases, this is the one I would most want to see in a lefty version. Please, Sal???

It all depends on demand. We made a batch of lefty Milli's and will probably do so from time to time. A lefty version of this model would require 1200 pieces made. Big number to inventory of a slow moving model. Let's hide-n-watch.

Hi Sal, thanks for chiming in on this thread. Would you happen to be able to give a ballpark number for the minimum number of pieces that would need to be made for a left handed sprint run Military in a "super steel?"

I wouldn't mind a regular version if there were lefty clip options, and the standard knives I use are fine with just the left handed clip mount.

I was looking at the Southard and I'm left handed. Some righty models work ok left handed, some not so well. The Southard looks like it might be in the "not so well" category. It looks like the deep finger choil on the G-10 side leaves the edge of the Ti frame lock side exposed enough to dig into your finger when held in the left hand. Because the frame lock protrudes a bit farther, it obscures the Spydie hole somewhat, although, most will flip it open. Lastly,, the clip only provides for carrying the knife one way, which isn't lefty friendly.

It's usually possible to operate RH specific knives with the left hand, maybe even easy, but it's not an area where I want to compromise. As a lefty I have had to go through life adapting to the right handed world, no big deal, but I just don't want to go there with the knifes I EDC.

I have a left handed military that is one of my favorites. I would definitely be in for a left handed version.

I will be following this thread with great interest, let's make this happen!

Let's watch the demand for a few months. We're not opposed. We would have to make 1200 LH pcs plus tooling costs. The knife is already an expensive piece. Let's look at it again in 6 months.

I'll be an optimistic contrarian and say that I'm finding the Southard, like the Military, quite lefty-friendly. The flipper opening is obviously completely ambidextrous, and the generous cutout for the lockbar makes it easy for me to unlock the knife left-handed. YMMV, I guess, but I would urge lefties to consider giving this one a try.

I will buy any and every lefty piece you make, Sal. I love my lefty Millie! Hopefully it's a hot seller and we can get it in a lefty arrangement! Would it help if I bought a righty now? lol!

Ditto. I will support anybody that makes stuff for us lefties.
