Lefty Southard Flipper?

As a lefty I've learned to manipulate any lock just fine but without the option to carry left handed I instantly loose interest in a model. An option to have the other side drilled by the factory like Emerson offers without voiding the warranty would be nice. I still carry a few RH knives but it ruins my usual pocket setup - keys, flashlight, phone, etc.
Spoiled by my left-hand 21 I haven't bought another knife in over a year and probably won't unless it's either a dedicated lefty or built equally ambidextrous like a backlock or axis.

Dead on. I picked up a lefty 21 and a lefty Millie this year, too. I can deal with just about any kind of lock, but the left-hand carry option is now a must. Factory tapping à la Emerson would be great. I carried my M390/CF Millie in my left pocket for a while, but now that I've got a lefty, even in G10 and S30V (which are amazing on their own - I guess I'm a bit spoiled ;) )... it gets carried more than the M390.

Or, you know, a run of complete lefty Southards would be great, too. The 21 is my first and only Ti framelock at the moment; I would love for the second to be a Spyderco in CTS-204P.

I now want this to happen even more.

To scratch the itch for a new knife that came about from drooling over this model I got myself a Benchmade 300sn, their new flipper with the axis lock.

I'm sure it is a great knife for many people but I handled it for 15 minutes and packaged it back up and returned it. The non recessed liners make the handles incredibly thick, the cut outs for your fingers felt weird when I held it, the flipper action was weak and above all else I was sent a half serrated (300ssn) instead of the plain edge I ordered.

I'm still itchy for something new and I really want it to be the Southard in a left handed setup.

Keeping my fingers crossed.

I would definitely buy on or two LH Spyderco Southards.

Thanks Sal for considering it; and thanks for the LH military. Every lefty knife guy should own one.

Just thought I would ressurect this thread to see if there may be an update as to whether this could happen or not.

Still have my fingers crossed!!!

bump up, i was saving for a Southard, but since no word on the lefty i bought a lefty sebenza and I'm happy a dedicated lefty southard i would buy still in a heartbeat, it doest get annoying being lefty and seeing how some companies accompany us i love it (thank you CRK)

I already have a regular Southard but would spend the cash to get a lefty version as well.

I agree with most of the comments here. We’re only 10% of the population. Doesn’t seem like it makes much economic sense to machine for lefties. Worked out for us that now we find more and more choices with the 4-way clips. Still as far as I know, the only truly ambidextrous knives from Spyderco are with the lockback system.
I have the “now defunct” Left-Handed Military and it is sooo sweet.
Saying all of this, I’ve adapted pretty well to the Domino. But I’d be on board for a LH Southard.

I don't need it to be completely left handed. Just put a left hand carry option with a four way clip mounting option.

I'd own one already if I could just move the clip to the other side.
