Trying to stay with tradition, I built this one as close as possible to photos I have seen. The leg bone was found near a friend's farm and could be from a sheep or a white tail. I did not force a patina on the blade (after all when the old time blacksmiths finished a knife, I'm sure it was shiny like this) but I can stain the blade a light gray if anyone wants.

Forged from 1095
Flat grind finished with a fine Scotch Bright belt
Bone handle dyed and embellished with brass and rawhide
Overall length: 12 1/2 inches
Blade: 7 3/4 inches
Leather scabbard (no belt loop)
