Legal Length (<2.5") Folding Knife for School Carry

Also, I think the Urban is something like 2.6", so be careful on that one.

Yeah, 2 9/16". A regular size (91mm) Victorinox has a blade longer than 2.5" as well, so that's out. The 84mm size supposedly has a 2.5" blade length (I don't have one, so I can't confirm). This includes the Bantam or Cadet. Or an Urban, if you can get the blade just a touch shorter.

It shouldn't be too hard to find any number of other small slipjoints (like a peanut) that will fit the bill.

Long time lurker, looking for some good products.

I EDC one knife everyday. It's either a Benchmade 710 or a Benchmade 930.

The problem is, neither knife is legal to carry onto a California school campus when I pick up my kids. The legal length limit for a folder is 2.5". Benchmade doesn't make a knife like this with their AXIS lock (gosh, I love that feature, which is why I carry Benchmade). So, I'm free to look at any manufacturer.

As a lover of high end steel and great quality blades/knives, I'm in search of a folder that is legal to carry for the brief period of time that I'm picking up the kids...

Could anyone please recommend a knife? Thanks much!

OK, since you're limited by law to a non-locking folder, A G Russell has some very nice slippies with bolsters and different scale materials that should satisfy everyone. Blade steel is VG10 and the length should be within your limit.
