Legal version BM Infidel or PT Godson??

If you can afford it the mad maxx is about the best choice i can think of. on the completely opposite end of the spectrum mtech makes a side opening stiletto that costs about $9 and i've found it to be surprisingly sturdy. and if you want that OTF action the kershaw ripcord is supposed to be pretty sturdy (though i've heard it's a PITA to use). The benchmade 943 isn't quite a stiletto but it's very slim and has that same sort of feeling (and it's a great knife). For some reason the spyderco vallotten always reminds me of classic italian stillettos even though it is far from actually being one.

There's the Protech Ciabatta. Looks a lot like a Godson, and has a button, but only fires when you press in on the blade and release. It was made to be considered an assisted, but IMO it'd be extremely hard to convince an LEO/judge/jury that it isn't a switchblade, even though pushing the button doesn't fire it. It's a bit shorter than you're looking for though.

You could also look into a fox or pi knives dobolock if you're looking for something off the beaten path. I cant wait to get mine back from repair.

I think Smith & Wesson made an assisted opening otf, but made in China (I assume)so not sure about the quality.

it is a peace of shoot. scrap metal. take your money while driveing down the road and throw it out the window because that is what you will be doing if you buy one.

Nice catch, you're right. I think the 650 is insanely rare though. It's age alone would make it hard to find.

They are pretty rare, but they do pop up from time to time. The hunt is one of the best parts about getting a knife you're looking for. That might just be my take on it though. :D

OT: I think the very coolest thing would be if Protech would release The Don with assisted opening and a flipper. That would be the sweetest ever if you're in the OP's position.

To get back on topic, if you can afford it, +1 for the Darrel Ralph, for dang sure.

Thanks again to everyone.
I was thinking about maybe a blue titanium tilite but the prices are way too high IMHO.

I would like the side opening assisted, but with the stiletto look, if that makes any sense.

This is relatively cheap. It's not assisted opening, but it is stiletto shaped. http://www.bladehq.com/item--Boker-Magnum-Great-Knight--2616

Also has a 4.67 inch blade.

Gerber applegate folder, extrema ratio bf3 (I think) , or a cs ti lite. The extrema ratio doesnt have a swedge but it has the same sort of feel if that makes sense. Still a madd maxx would be and is my #1 choice.
