Legion by Knife Research

It is a well thought out and well executed design. Handles great and multitasks very well. Damn, I wish I had gotten one of those!

...which one? The one with the Swedge? In Italy you can find them even in the after market ... if you want, I can try to see if someone sells it in the main italian knives forum... let me know.
I recently bought an Enki, and it's a beauty... eternal line and finishes at the top! :)

I don't really need both, I may trade mine for one with a swedge some day...maybe, I'd have to think about it. I really like this carry system and I think the older sheaths were completely different. I already have my order in for an Enki, just waiting on the sheaths to come in.

Yeah, the old sheaths were the usual Spec Ops, while the new ones are definitely better than the old. Congratulations on the Ekni. As for the legion with Swedge, were produced with the first run, but later Molletta decided that he would no longer produced them, for the simple reason that it had more requests for the others (the current ones), since they are more practical and functional .. . but the charm of swedge....... Either way, both are beautiful!

I used one that belonged to another forum member--and it did all I asked of it

Mist's review came out just as my experience did

Very Well made knife

No complaints at all

That is a nice looking blade. There is a torture testing video and thread on another forum which shows how tough that design and steel can be. I got interested in KR/Lion Steel after picking up a DPX/Lion Steel HEST II Assault in Sleipner. The quality is way high and the little bit of research I've done since then indicates these guys intend to bring out the very best products possible. If someone is interested in this blade, they need to dig up the testing thread and video. It's impressive. Thanks again for your great reviews Mist:thumbup:

Thanks man, I agree. This is the 5th knife made by Lionsteel I have handled and all have done extremely well and have been very well made, and top notch fit and finishes.

My first was a DPx folder, one of the original run. Yes it has the proud tip issue, but I have been carrying it since it came out almost three years ago with no serious issues, the knife has been through hell and still performs flawlessly. It rides in my pocket and is used every day. After that there was a HEFT Woodsman. A little big for my needs, but very well done, then there is the DPX HEST-II Assault I have and it has been an awesome knife. Now there is the Legion, and I am looking very hard at the SR1 mini. I think Lionsteel does great work. I am looking forward to the KR Enki!

I'll add something else concerning Sleipner. As this steel is billed as D2ish, people wonder about how hard it is to sharpen. I worried about this. My edge was good, but not what I'd call sharp (I bought the knife used). I am not good at sharpening, but set up the Sharpmaker and brought up a good edge in short order. It seems I needed to push a little more aggressively into the sticks with the Sleipner, but it really wasn't a hassle even for this noob. Take care.

I have been really impressed with the Sleipner. The corrosion resistance is so far higher than I expected. There has been no rolling so far in chopping. The only chip, and I will try to remember to post pics later, occurred when I was trying to snap a photo of the knife in a log and the wind blew pretty hard and a branch fell from above as I was looking through the lens. It fell on the log, the log bounced and catapulted the knife up into the air (and being razor sharp I did not try to catch it) and it landed in the rocks at the bottom of a waterfall. It was such a small nick I didn't notice it at first glance but later when zooming in on a photo. It didn't take long to work it out though and the blade is fine now.

Mistwalker is evil ..... going to order one!! :D

Simple functional and clean lines.
