Gorgeous knife. I really like the Micarta and the flat spot on the spine for the fire steel. Micarta is my all time favorite handle material, and it looks like a great cutter!
On a zero grind scandi the height is dictated by not just the angle but the blade thicknesss. This blade is thicker than most scandis at .157" (4mm): so for a given angle grind, the grind line will come higher up the sides than on a model with say .100" (2.5mm) thickness. Hope that makes sense.
Yes, that's it's true. Anyway me and Saku wanted for a real great cutter, so the height it's abit higher than a normal scandi (or, which it's the same, the bevel angle is a bit thinner).
Beautiful knife! It looks like it does very well. I think I'd want a little less belly, a little more point, and would prefer to forego the ferro rod striker in the spine, but the grind looks good, and DAMN I love that handle and pommel! Thanks for posting it up
