Lemon Oil ?

Alright Elliott, Kerry, break it up. I’m not going to let some roosters scratching in the dirt over hair products hijack this thread away from the lemony essence. Be warned, I’m watching both of you.

All I want to know is....HE? SHE? SHIM????? Somebody help!:D

Mike,

Where'd you get that picture of my twin sister Earlene? Purdy thing ain't she? ;)

Oh, Kerry. Not for nothin' but in my neighborhood, Dippity-Do was only for girls. (Well, Earlene liked it too but I think she used to eat it on crackers!)

:D ;)

Man Oh man ! ,Ask for a little info in here, see what happens?
Stick to the topic - Lemon Oil,I got a 64 oz. jug,I've been swabbing the decks with it around here,Makes a tasty chicken marinade,as well, try it !

Kerry, I would offer to back my buttocks up against a wall until my legs flopped over my head to get a good view in order to answer your question, but then my stomach might smother me in the process. I will say that’s an old picture and my mustache has filled out more since that was taken.

Thanks Vince for getting this thread back on topic.

Goin to check the contents now to see if it is edible.:p

As far as the girly nature of Dippity Doo, I'm down with that and, at this point, very sorry I even brought it up. I have already been warned I was very close to being handed form BK-Form 100a, Girly Knife Purse Waiver. (It's mainly for knife purses but can be served for even thinking about other girly behaviors)

And for you Robuck, I ain't gonna ask you to bend over any direction for anything. :o

Yes Vince, thanks for bringing this back around.

Back to the topic: This is another product you can't get in the EU so I'm going up the wall wondering how to get some!

What is it used for, apart from knife scales? Floor polishing??

Do the handles get slippery after applying it?

Who cares if it smells girly? I LIKE the smell of women-some of them:D

Look, I'm posting something useful in this thread:

Formby's® Penetrating Lemon Oil Treatment nourishes and maintains wood's natural beauty. Formby's® Lemon Oil Treatment is specially designed to replace the lost natural oil in wooden furniture and prevent moisture absorption, which can cause wood to crack, peel, lift or discolor. Formby's® Lemon Oil Treatment is formulated to be light and not greasy. The pleasant lemon fragrance will leave your wood smelling fresh and clean!

Formby's® Lemon Oil Treatment may be used on funiture, wall paneling, doors, kitchen cabinets and other wood surfaces.

Tips:

Do not over-use. Lemon Oil is not greasy and will not build up on your furniture, but if you put too much Lemon Oil on, you may have to wipe it off, as it does not evaporate.

Formby's® Lemon Oil Treatment is ideal for use after refinishing to condition wood and keep it looking beautiful.

Use Formby's® Lemon Oil Treatment regularly on all wood surfaces to help protect wood from drying and cracking.

Formby's® Lemon Oil Treatment used regularly (once a month or so) with a clean cloth will pick up dirt and dust and other pollutants that settle on your furniture.

Once or twice a year you should apply Lemon Oil under a tabletop or desk to add oil to the wood underneath. This decreases the absorption of moisture into the wood. This may also be done around drawer edges and door edges.

I have a little something saved up for Kerry and Elliott if it gets out of hand again.

In general, Lemon Oil is sold as a furniture and wood floor polish. It's available from several manufacturers.

As someone else pointed out, the Formby's product is a mix, and contains wax. You may or may not want this. I think Tony Bose specifically mentioned Formby's, so what the heck do I know.

I was originally introduced to Lemon Oil via the "Old English" (furniture polish) brand, by my Dad, who at the time did furniture restoration as his job. I don't know what else might be mixed into this formulation.

I just did a quick Google of "lemon oil furniture polish" and got dozens of hits, including recipes for making your own. (1 cup mineral oil with 1-2 tsp. "oil of lemon" added).

Thanks for the info!

Eagerly checked out the Amazon source for Lemon oil. About 3.75 that's fine:thumbup:

Shipping costs of this ONE item to the EU 44 dollars!!!!:barf: Is this a GALLON can???

The search goes on...

Do you mean you cannot find lemon oil in Europe ??

I'm curious , where do you dwell, if I may ask ? :)

I would think lemon oil/orange oil would be one of those universal things.

Finland.
It's probably too cold to use the stuff here:D
Might be that most furniture here is softwood and probably doesn't respond to treatment with lemon oil-being resinous pine etc?

Not to take away from the beauty of her eyes but is that a spit cup on the table or a coffee cup?.......She's about 35 lbs short of being super hot !!

I always wondered how deer keep their antlers so shiny....Now I know that they run through lemon trees with their head flipped back and relish in the shinyness that is about to happen.

I'm kind of wondering what was left over on the plate by the sink? Surprised she/he didn't clean her/his plate and wipe it down with a slice of wonder bread.

So now there's gonna be a run on Dippity-Do and people are gonna be smearing the stuff on their knives. I do believe a monster has been created.

Vince:
I wasn't fooled a bit by the taste testing you did with the Formby's. Sadly, this poor sap tried your suggestion and you'll probably be getting a call from his lawyer.

Let me just first say that I purchased a bottle of Formby’s lemon oil yesterday and will be conducting a double blind test of its merits vs. mineral oil and hair gel. As a serious contributor to this sub forum, it's the least I can do.

As for Kerry, here’s an updated picture of me watching you that I suggest you print and tape to the visor of your vehicle as you drive to Blade. Please do not take my picture into the hotel room, or other private places alone with you.
