I never read much about Les George on here yet his knives seem like they re in high demand. They are very pricey. Are they worth the dough? Are they top notch knives? I would hope the fit and finish to be fantastic at their price points. I am interested in a VECP in particular. Anybody own one? :)

At the direct from Les price they are a force to be reckoned with. At secondary market prices they are a very good value. Seriously though, the fit and finish on all 3 that I've owned were absolutely perfect.

I consider my VECP to be the best knife I own, overall, personal preference aside.

As a high end knife goes, the F&F, the unreal smooth action, solid lockup, easy lockbar release and overall hand comfort, nothing is better. Some other knives are in a similar realm but nothing surpasses the VECP that I have ever owned. Period.

If you can get a VECP at dealer prices then it is one of the best knives available IMHO. I'd pay $100 over that knowing what I know now. Plus, Les is super responsive to his customers. if you have a Les George knife, he has your back. I can't imagine what a Les George custom must be like knowing what a VECP is like today

Cool I would expect the fit and finish to be absolutely perfect. I do buy other knives than Graymans although I highly recommend them! If you d like PM me and i ll give you my phone number and we can chat about them! lol! Or just read my posts that have thousands of hits. Thanks for the Les info! Like I said you dont hear his name very often around here!

George is one of the latest "love fest" makers. He is getting the fan boy love. Right now secondary prices are inflated to an unsustainable level. Wait if you want one.

The f&f is on par with other popular makers in this price range. I find the vecp handle uncomfortable in most grips. And the knife is to heavy to edc.

Best knife I have ever owned. I was completely blown away by F&F, the way it feels, and the way it looks. I think I literally had a grin on my face the entire day I got it, and even though it's a big heavy folder, it rides very light in the pocket and I barely feel it.

If I walked into a knife shop and saw this knife, and they had a $900 price tag on it (not knowing how much it costs) I would most likely buy it. I can't believe Les George sells these things for $350..... IMO at that price he's pretty much giving them away. This knife is a good value even at the inflated 2ndary market price.

The increase in Les George's popularity, and his VECP folder, reminds me of the rise in popularity of Rick Hinderer & his XM-18.

Handled a few VECP folders & really liked them.

The VECP is my favorite knife I own, I like it a tad bit more than my xm18 3.5. Its amazing and feels like a heavy duty but eleagant folder that could be you're best friend and knife for the rest of you're life ;).

I like the looks of them.

I really like that he licensed the hinderer stabilizer from Hinderer, and gives credit.

The one asthetic thing I notice, though, is the stabilizer washer. I think it would add a touch of class to have the washer finished differently. Visually, a coined washer would hit the spot! The circular machining marks don't appeal to me, but for the price, it looks like a great piece of hardware.

I think sometimes simplicity is beauty. Sounds like these are nice. Gonna have to let my addiction get the better of me and order one! So there, I buy other than Grayman! It does take a nice blade though for me to do so! Is Les gonna take the spotlight from Rick Hinderer?

Les is about as good of a dude as it gets. He also just happens to make awesome knives, too.

If it tells you anything, I hated to have to give my VECP up to send in for a tune up.

Les is quick to reply, honest, and an all around great guy. The VECP in itself is a steal, to me, at MSRP. That being said, I love medium to large hearty knife. I own several Strider SMF's.

The other thing about a VECP is that if you can get one close to retail, if you don't like it (which will put you in the minority from what I have read) you can sell it and make a few bucks.

I EDC mine daily and have since I got it from Les. It is a great midtech knife and an excellant value.

I also agree, Les is a great guy and very generous as well if you get to know him.
