Trade interests:
Gray Olamic busker semper or largo (depending on variant, I would consider trading the VECP straight up for it)
Gray tactile archer
Uncolored (black, gray, or white) sub 4" titanium folders that are considered top EDC options or classic blades
Les George VECP Button Lock Magnacut
Pics (Including Verification Pic)
Light carry, light use. Factory edge has been stropped on a leather strop using 6-micron diamond suspension, giving the bevel a nice shine and making it quite sharp.
Exceptionally smooth, given I've accelerated the "break-in" process by polishing the washers, button, and button wells. ***As a bigtime CRK user, I have always considered this process unnecessary, and that anyone who did something like that was largely just ego-stroking, but in this case, this knife simply wasn't performing correctly prior to me giving it some love. It had terrrible action unless I allowed for side-to-side play while the lock was disengaged. But now my efforts have made it smooth as glass, and it has exceptional lockup and no play with the lock disengaged. The action feels glassy, like a sebenza, which is as it should be.***
When I first got this knife, it only took a few minutes of opening and closing it for a metal slurry to form inside the knife as the metal parts all worked against each other. It has been greatly minimized, but still occurs as it is clearly not fully broken in, though I would estimate it is quite close.
Has been cleaned and is running on ultralight nano-oil. I usually run washer knives on heavy-weight or regular nano oil, but this one is just happier on ultralight. I suspect after break-in this one may be happy running dry as well.
There are scratches on the blade from the previous owner, which are largely hidden by the stonewash, but are visible under the right light, at the right angle. I included multiple shots of the blade, showing how, at times it looks completely new, but tilt it the right way, in the right light, and the scratches are noticable.
Most notable blemishes are some micro scratches on the satin hardware like the button and pivot.
Lastly, all my efforts have greatly reduced the button lock stick, but it still exists. Intermittently, it still does become quite strong; I suspect as a result of the aforementioned break-in still occurring.
Happy to answer any questions or entertain trade offers; see trade interests above.
