Hello,

I am looking for pictures and feedbacksi comparing the les George VECP framlelock with the Koenig Arius
Either flipper or non flipper version

How do they compare? Which one do you prefer ?

I have only owned the VECP button mitchnola mitchnola can give you the skinny on the frame lock. I'm looking for a flipper frame lock to replace my button I traded.

I can’t speak much on the koenig arius other than I handled it briefly at the bladeshow and wasn’t impressed considering the price. One thing I noticed immediately is you could feel the vibrations of the bearings when opening n closing which just felt shitty to me. Could’ve just needed some lube or breaking in maybe but still didn’t see it being worth the $1095 asking price. The action was great but great action on a knife with bearings isn’t that impressive to me personally. I mean it’s fricking bearings. I have $250 Emerson flippers on bearings that drop shut.

Now the vecp thumb stud version is one of my most favorite of all knives. The action he achieves on pb washers is amazing! The blade flys open with the slightest flick of the thumb. Has that smooth hydraulic feel. The detent has been perfect on all of mine. Lockbar is easily disengaged without hurting the thumb. All in all a great knife.

The flipper version is also excellent. If you prefer flippers then you won’t be disappointed. Runs on bearings. Flys open with the tab with authority. Will drop shut with a slight wrist flick. Also great but I do prefer the thumb stud version because I prefer pb washers over bearings. I also prefer the thumb flick to the flipper.

Full disclosure, Les George is my favorite maker so obviously I’m very biased. The arius is a well made knife but personally I don’t see it being worth that price tag. I think it should be more in line with reeves, hinderer etc. Again, just my opinion, I’m sure there are plenty out there that love the arius and can make their argument as to how great it is.

Just curious, are you trying to decide between the 2 to purchase or trade? Just wondering because of the big difference in prices.

Sorry Therom I didn't mean to sidetrack your post. I've never handled an Arius but I can vouch for LG, they are absolutely the smoothest and best pb washer knives ever made...And I own Spartan Harseys and CRKs which I love...But LG is the best!

I’ve also been wondering if and when he does more thumb stud vecps or the new Talos, if the action will be equal to the mk3, cause that thing is absolutely incredible!
