Still going thru my collection and forcing myself to part with some of my favorites in order to try new makers and models. I also purchased another Hinderer (think mid tech) so this one needs to find a good home. As always I give very detailed information as im very picky and realize each knife has there "own character" and everyone has different financail situations,,so be it a $50 or $500 knife I go out of my way to list anything I feel helpful or that should be disclosed.

1) Les George VECP V3 (version three, the latest edition and purchased last month from monkeyedge.com, will come with the receipt for the new owner) $390 shipped (net to me). This is basically a custom knife, you can call monkeyedge and ask them about it. But in short, the VECP is a mid tech to begin with, the monkeyedge frag pattern tanto is dam near a full custom as the scales are only made for monkeyedge and the blade is hand ground by Les Georgy himself, and hand assembled and tuned by him before shipping to monkeyedge. So pretty freaking amazing stuff if you ask me, as his knives go for as much a $10,000 dollars and your getting so much of his work and talent in his VECP, let alone his special tanto versions. I love Large Sebenzas and the first time I handled a VECP I bought two, yes two as it is the only thumb stud flipper i have ever felt that was even smoother then my Sebenzas. And you can google and youtube all you like, the VECP is the smoothest none bearing flipper I have handled and many agree. I am keeping one and selling this one,,, when people ask I tell them think of it like this, I would never ever sell my knifeart large carbon fiber sebenza, but if the sebenza went to the gym and did a tone of steroids it would end up a Les George VECP. That is all I can say, it large, the blade is crazy thick, the hair shaving sharp, and it the only knife on standard phospor bronze washers other then a Sebenza that has the magical feel and the lock up is perfection, the centuring is perfection, as you can see I am very impressed and will never be without my large sebenza and at least one les george VECP in my collection. Its a huge knife but actually not heavy at all, monkeyedge.com has it listed at 5.4ounce, my scale says 5.2 so it in that range, on this frag scale the inside is also milled out beautifully so its like having a carbon fiber front scale shaving a good bit of weight over the standard version. Okay, onto the pictures these are all current as i just got this last month brand spanking new and will send the receipt to the new owner. Like I said I purchased two i was so blown away but im keeping the plane jane version for myself as it just grew on me, so decided to sell this frag tanto instead. I'm also posting the photos of this knife from the monkeyedge website just so the new owner has them as well.

SOLD SOLD SOLD Hinderer Full Titanium MP1, this is a gorgeous blade, i'm attaching several photos so you can see exactly what your purchasing.

About the knife: purchased "as new" and upon receiving I was not really happy with the blade and scale combo. The full titanium MP1 blade has a sandblast finish from Hinderer, not the usual stonewash (like most XM models). I contacted kim@hinderer knives and asked if it would be allowed for me to media wash the scales and not void the warranty. She said "as long as there are no internal mods, examples being: someone changes the blade to lockbar interface or even someone milling to add bearings, etc. Mine only has the media washed scales so would still have full warranty". I mention this as just like a Chris Reeve, Rick Hinderer knives will sharpen and tune up any of there products they just don't call it a "spa service", but you can send it in or call and they will send new washers or replacement parts, etc. I know first hand as I have dealt with them and they sent me a bag full of washer and screws for another knife and only charged me like $12 or something very minor.

Onto the knife: It has never seen the inside of a pocket, never cut a piece of paper, just put it into my knife case and once in a blue moon will open and close it or show it to fellow knife crazy friends. It was carefully taken apart, the scales had a media wash finish applied at the same time all the hardware from the screws, pocket clip, to modular back spacer were all heat treated/anodized to give it some character. I think it looks great and the scales are perfectly done, not a scratch, snail trail, blemish. The blade is 100% factory and the grind is even on both sides. Frame Lock up is deep with zero lock stick, NO blade play/lock rock/etc. Having now had 3 hinderers I can tell you "this mp1 on the flipper is 8 out of 10, 10 compairing to a ball bearing flipper. It is very good and flips with no wrist as long as not pointed straight up(towards the sky), I have had one that flipped a little better but that one did not have great thumbstud deployment either... and that is were this MP1 shines!!! it is 100% perfection, only thing I can compaire it with is a well tuned or broken in large Sebenza. Thumbstud deployment is perfect and will shoot out like a rocket in any position. Another great thing on this one Is the Detent, it will NOT just shake loose like some, you can shake pretty violently and get nothing, but if you slam it, say in an emergency situation you can get it to deploy which is exactly what should happen" Im sure if you wanted to make it a better flipper you could use a lighter weight oil as well as not keep the pivot so tight, I myself prefer it tuned as is, but I also prefer thumbstud flippers like my Sebenza, Kizer T1, or my Les George.
As you can see the blade centuring is great, lock up is deep and again zero lock stick. There are no marks on the blade, snail trails, scratches etc, but examine the photos as these are recent and the exact knife you are purchasing. In case someone reading/viewing may not be aware some hardware is titanium, some stainless, so when heat treating you will get different effects and colors, but trust me and zoom in and you can see not one screw or spacer has a mark of blemish.

That is about all I can think of, feel free to ask questions and I will due my best to answer. It's a beautiful blade, unique, covered under full warranty, ships as shown with box and card, and your getting it at a HUGE DISCOUNT. I Just want the new guys to understand that this knife, like a Chris Reeve is not going to feel like your kershaw auto or zt ball bearing folder and has its own character. This knife is extremely smooth, but also requires a more dedicated deployment. It like rifle triggers, each has its own feel and only you can decide if you like a single stage, dual stage, or 8 ounce competition trigger. Again I ramble, but I know many are even newer to high end blades then me, and when I hear them complain about there Chris Reeve or Hinderer knot deploying like the $20 walmart flipper it's hard not to say something like... there not supposed to they were built for different purposes such as hard use, or gentlemans carry, defensive situations,etc.... The MP1 in my eyes is a way overbuilt gentlemans carry knife that could be thrown into battle or cut thru a car door without thinking twice..... just my two cents and hope this helps if this is going to someone getting there first "fancy or high end knife".
