WOW.

Got an email from a member? (who?)

who just offered to sell me a Les Voorhies flipper knife for $150.

Not famaliar with this maker, but the knife looks awesome ( in the picture)

I sent him an email regarding if he has any ratings on any forums, and he said no, but will send it to me FIRST before I pay him.

And I said yes.

my first custom knife...is it going to come?

mike

I got a similar Email......is that a red flag I see poping up?

That model sells for over $400.00, so this person is nutty as a fruitcake for selling it for $150.00. Good for you if you do get it.

im willing to try my luck, maybe he does need money?

I wanna be safe about thsi though. i dont want some gangster people to ram my house...

Hmmm. yeah it does sound fishy...maybe Ill give him my work's address (dairy queen), and have him send it there?

This is what was sent me by smellyturban@gmail.com

I got a Les Voorhies IKBS flipper, interested in a sale or trade. Mostly I am intersted in a sale because I need the money for christmas, Im thinking $250 shipped. which is VERY cheap. extremely smooth due to IKBS.

here is the original guy who had it, everything looks the same.

Don't worry about where you tell him to send it because I'm betting that you will never see it.

If you think you might be about to get ripped off, and then go through with the deal anyway and are in fact ripped off, then please don't come here to complain about it. You will be a victim of your own greed. Others here who have a lot of experience with knives have already suggested that something doesn't smell right here. In fact, it smells kind of like a Vlad deal to me.:thumbdn:

I got that same email, they wanted to trade for my Obie Bandit. I said no, then they emailed me back twice.

Don't fall for it!

BREAKING NEWS! THE VOORHIES CAME!!!!

!!!:confused: I got a notice yesterday regarding that an item has come and will be at the post office today. I thought it was the Maglight I bought...AS IT TURNS OUT, IT IS THE LES VOORHIES!!!

sorry for being so exicted! I am going to examine it and post a review here later! PEACE OUT!!!:thumbup::D:D:D:eek:

Congratulations on the score :) Glad it ended well. Didn't think it would but I guess good things can come in the form of spam Email :D If the seller has more blade he really should seek out a standard selling method. He'd be trusted more and get more $$ for his goods. Not to mention reach a wider audience.

haha. thanks. I will send him a Western Union money order as soon as he replies.

he used expresspost. the package came from Quebec. so it endwed here pretty quick.

im in love with it!!!! NICE!!!!will write a review later.

ill get a camera pic later.

heres what I think of it.

The ergonomics are REALLY superb. feels very great in the hands. It says IKBS on one of its sides. Which means bearings inside (i think). It is EXTREMELY smooooth. The flipper requires some strength to press, which is great since it means it wont open up randomly. and onces you press the flipper down, the blade just flies out, finishing with a satifying click. the blade is pretty sharp, but not as sharp as Id like. The blade is a bit off centered, but the blade doesnt scratch anything, so everything is fine. I might take it apart later. anyone know of any ways to take apart a IKBS knife? the pivots are hidden behind the scales, which is great!!

Mike, 'grats on your custom--that's an awesome score you have.

If I may ask though, why do you want to take it apart? Is there any need or is it just you being curious? If you do decide to take it apart, keep in mind that it's IKBS; we're talking small ball bearings here--Dissasemble it in a bowl or a plastic bag so you won't lose track of any piece.

hey bro.

well, I guess I am just curious...since this is not only my first custom, but also a new kind of knife. it is very smooth, and I am quite curious. But I should resist the temptation...since I dont want to break it. haha.

lucky day for me. about $200 for a $400+ knife. :)

As much as i like this. I dont think I can find any use to it...since it is really too nice for me to use. I might trade it for a Sebenza or a Mike Obenauf Model 2/4(my favorite customs). so I can edc them.

no pictures yet, since I dont have a camera.

Hehehee, i will go resume laughing. :D

Does CPM154 mean the same thing as 154CM?

No. I'll try to get you more info later unless someone else chimes in. I'm pretty curious as to what it looks like myself. Maybe when you post pics Les can chime in with more info as well.
