Less expensive small Sebenza alternative???

Benchmade has had a couple of special editions of the 705 that you might like. One is with 154CM steel and a nice anodized aluminum handle (made to look like carbon fiber). Another, probably harder to find, has a real carbon fiber handle and an M2 blade. I think the Benchmade price was $200; there weren't many of these and I don't know if anyone is parting with them.

Spyderco's ATR, once it arrives, may or may not fit the bill--it's S30V with a Ti handle and compression lock, but may not be the "look" you want.

Real hard to beat the value of the EDC in D2. Also don't over look the Dozier folders, every bit as nice and strong as a Benza.

Uh fella's ......the question was LESS expensive than a Sebenza.
No one will dispute the Quality of a Sebenza ,but I do have to wonder
why their owners sell them so often.

Someone said Microtech Mini-Socom and i am going to second that!!

I have a Classic Small Sebenza in BG-42 and I alternate it as my EDC with a MT Mini-Socom which is just an awesome knife.

That's an interesting question there Tightwad, perhaps worth a thread of its own. One guy I know sold his because he said it was ergonomically inferior to numerous customs in its approximate price range.

For LESS money than a Sebenza, I don't think you can find one that really comparable, but agree with one of the previous posters... buy one or trade for a used one here... My small was made in '97, I know that previous owners took good care of it, but aside from a couple of tiny rub-marks on the Ti handle, the stonewashed blade still looks perfect, and it is still the smoothest knife I own... Once I help one, I got the frame-lock bug. I have a TNT on order and I bought a Camillus EDC not too long ago.

Get an EDC, It is WAY less expensive than a Seb, Mayo, or Ralph (Although I would recommend waiting til you can purchase any one of them, It sure seems to be worth it to me.)

Lotsa good alternatives mentioned above. CRKT S-2 is a whole lotta bang for the buck, inmho more so than the Camillus EDC.
But live is short folks=buy the best tool that you can afford. Down the road you'll be happy you did! I own a Sebenza and love it. I also own two Obenaufs (liner locks) and have a frame locks on order.
I am also an advocate of S30V--it blows D2.
